Blood ruby pushing purple. Black and red licorice wound around a core of dusty oak. Smoky, with smells of cigar boxes and dried violets, roses and a potpourri of others including heather and light lavender. Tight still with a bing cherry middle, red currant, tart blueberry and boysenberry. Baked plum unravels to the aforementioned oak with a cedar-cigar and pronounced oak exposure. Wound tight in some places, and unraveling slowly in others.

I tried this wine and the less expensive Carmenere and a wine called Anka by the same winery and this was definitely the best of the three, that being said, I found it very good but not outstanding. It is very aromatic, but almost too intense and too perfumey. There was a noticeable amount of residual sugar. Still, enjoyable and interesting. #cabernet #cabernetsauvignon #cabernetfranc #merlot #chile — 4 years ago
Rim to rim color density. Red and black cherries poke through cedar and sweet tobacco on the nose with dark chocolate chunks, plum, prune and date, toasted sesame, cinnamon, rose petal, and cardamom. Chewy tannins that roll satin-smooth initially, then cassis, black currant and licorice flip the script. Graphite and blackberry frame dark chocolate and mocha-tobacco, oak and black bread.

Red and black cherry notes, cranberry sauce, roses, cinnamon rye-toast, integrated black currant, touch of leather. Smoky entry with grilled brown sugar, clove, and black olive, grill cedar, powdered black pepper, dried black currant, and bitter cocoa.

Medium(+) intensity aromas of black fruit (plum, cherry and prune) with secondary aromas of oak (cedar, smoke and dark chocolate) and just beginning to show some tertiary aromas and flavors of tobacco leaf and prunes. The wine has medium(+) acidity, medium(+) fine grained textural tannins and medium(+) body. The finish is medium (+) and while slightly grippy, those tannins are ripe and it’s that structure which will give it the ability to age in bottle for another 5/7 years. There is enough fruit and defined aromas and flavors to balance the acidity and the tannins which want to be the protagonista of this wine. A solid Claret. #saintestephe #bordeaux #grandvindebordeaux #cabernet #cabernetsauvignon #merlot and just 5% #petitverdot — 4 years ago
I agree with a few others that have mentioned it’s roughness, it seems like the tannins are a little coarse. Lovely aromas with a perfume of #cabernet and #tempranillo for some reason on the palate it seemed more like a Rioja than a #riberadelduero — a year ago
This wine pours a purpleish red. It has a modest but very fragrant nose. It has flavors of some vanilla, oak, herbs, and then fresh red fruits like strawberries and raspberries. It has outstanding tannins and a little bit of acidity. As such, it went perfectly with the grass fed ribeye steaks, we paired it with. Being a “diamond reserve“ from Trader Joe’s, this was much anticipated. It didn’t disappoint. I have a second bottle that I’ll open in a few months and see how it goes. I probably will go back and get a few more bottles for the future. #traderjoes #cabernet #oakville — 2 years ago
Simple ripe red and black fruit. Almost no secondary or tertiary aromas or flavors. Acidity seems unbalanced, seems high because it lacks the body and the fruit to balance it. #bolgheri #cabernet #cabernetsauvignon — 4 years ago
Deep black color like the label. On the nose medium + aromas of black fruit ( ripe kirsch, ripe cassis creme de cassis and blackberry jam) hints of ash, toast and cedar. On the palate the wine is rich lush and very “#Mediterranean while being pure pure #Cabernet. Burgundy bottle for Cab! I appreciate it a ton but I don’t love it. Aging incredibly well. 2007 in 2020 — 4 years ago

Enjoyable prosaic #cabernet #merlot (55% / 45%) blend. Cassis, black/purple fruit pretty prominent on the nose, some earthy notes as it opens up. Good acidity on palate, nice concentration of rich fruit from the merlot with earth and tannins from the cab - pretty good QPR on this one. — 8 months ago
