Château Meyney

Saint-Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend 2010

Needs decanting or time in the glass to fully express itself. At first pour it was all about black olives and chewiness and then over time the ripe black plums and cherries appeared and things mellowed out in a good way. #bordeaux #claret #stestephe #leftbank #leftbankbordeaux — 6 days ago

Château Bellevue

Red Bordeaux Blend 2019

This is a savory #bordeaux blend - 65% #merlot, 25% #cabernetsauvignon and 10% #cabernetfranc - reserved cassis, black olive, charcuterie nose. Palate continues with that demure dark fruit, leather, vegetal notes but missing some acidity and concentration; finishing with sturdy tannins that linger. Great wine to pair with red meat dishes. Satisfying QPR for ~$12 at Total Wine. — 3 months ago

Annonce de Bélair-Monange

Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Merlot 2015

Medium+ aromas of red fruit, some herbal (sage, balsamic) and oak (caramel, vainilla, marzipan, almond) tertiary (leather)
Less intense flavors on the palate. Dry, medium acidity, medium+ ripe tannins, high alcohol and a dry chewy finish.

Château Curton La Perriere

Red Bordeaux Blend 2019

Château-bottled #bordeaux at a price too good to pass up. First day it’s pretty tight out of the bottle. A day later aromas span out - black fruit, cassis plus some graphite and underbrush notes. In the mouth, lighter body than the deep color would suggest yet the 14.5% ABV is well-integrated supported by generous acidity. Tongue-hugging tannins linger on the finish. $7 at Costco - solid BDX at this price point. — a month ago

Barons de Rothschild (Lafite)

Légende Bordeaux Red Bordeaux Blend 2017

Is this a value-tier #bordeaux blend cashing in on the famous Lafite Rothschild name that’s a big step down from their top-tier offerings? Sure, but it’s still a good food-friendly red wine. Nose features a bit reserved blackberry and raspberry fruit, some earthy notes. Clocking in at 12% ABV, it’s medium-bodied on the palate, slightly more fruit forward than most Bordeaux, tobacco notes and lush acidity ending in soft tannins. The moderate alcohol and, mild tannins and tartness make it a great wine to pair with pizza without heavy toppings. Solid QPR for ~$13. — 3 months ago

Château Saint-Sulpice

Bordeaux Merlot Blend 2018

Solid #bordeaux - spice, earth and lean fruit - tongue hugging tannins. Solid wine though we struggled to keep it warm enough on the patio during a Texas winter storm. — 3 months ago

Château Latour à Pomerol

Pomerol Red Bordeaux Blend 2015

This is the bomb. Pronounced aromas and flavors with cherry and almonds, bitter almonds, almond milk, amarone like, marzipan and black plums and dirt and cedar vainilla, oak, toast, coffee and whisky...yes! It’s all of that and the aromas and flavors are delicate and precise. This is well worth it and is Pomerol in a pure state. Capable of aging well in the bottle obviously #pomerol #merlot #bordeaux — 4 months ago
