Seriously good Chianti. Black cherry, candied orange, tobacco leaf, nice acid and full body. Maybe even too good for pizza…but good with pizza — 8 months ago

Solid. Nice with pizza. — 8 years ago
Really tasty. Full bodied with medium acidity and medium/high tannins. Plums with hints of blueberry are joined by interesting herbal notes of thyme and sage. Also has a nice earthiness that veers into a touch of just-ground coffee beans accompanying the fruit and herbal flavors on the finish. Really good, and went well with meatball, ricotta, and mushroom pizza. — 2 months ago
Fantastic chianti. Deep plum notes and a slight mineral finish. Pairs well with New York style pepperoni pizza on a Friday night. — 4 years ago
Cannot stop drinking. I think I first tasted this 2016 or 17 and year after year it is my darling. About to heat some pizza to go with. Egads LOVE this carbonic Sangiovese. I want to share it with the world:just the whiffs of kirsch and bubble gum are so light and SO perfect with a slight chill and I’m about to see how it goes with a pizza pie. There is some white pepper and caramelized cherry. Some LA nights are more fun than others. — 6 years ago

I agree about LA being hit or miss, living in the OC there are nights I can smell LA & other nights it dissipates.
Spicy redfruits, good depth and balance, works really well with pizza, medium-long finish, just slightly lighter than the outstanding 2023 Old Vine. — 4 months ago
Crazy easy to drink, great with pizza — 3 years ago

Fresh cranberry, violets, plum, clay pot, and cracked pepper. Super dry but lighter in weight. Dried cherry and cranberry. Paired with prosciutto arugula pizza....My first Brachetto. — 8 years ago

Ridge Three Valleys 2023
Sonoma County, California, USA 🇺🇸
Overview
A classic Sonoma field blend composed of 71% Zinfandel, 16% Carignane, 9% Petite Sirah, 2% Mataro, and 2% Alicante Bouschet. Crafted in Ridge’s signature transparent style, this vintage leans toward a riper and more fruit-driven expression than many of the winery’s other bottlings.
Aromas & Flavors
Blackberry preserves, ripe plum, black cherry, and raspberry compote dominate, supported by touches of black pepper and baking spice.
Mouthfeel
Medium to full-bodied with polished tannins and a broad, generous texture. The fruit lingers across the palate with a warm, persistent finish.
Food Pairings
A natural companion for barbecue, smoked meats, burgers, and hearty pizza.
Verdict
While impeccably made, this is one of the few Ridge wines that didn’t quite resonate with my palate. It leans a bit too jammy and overripe for my preference, though lovers of rich, fruit-forward California reds will likely find plenty to enjoy.
Did You Know?
Ridge has long been one of California’s pioneers of ingredient transparency, listing the exact grape composition directly on the label.
🍷 Personal Pick
I truly love Ridge wines, but I’d still reach for Lytton Springs or Geyserville before this bottling. If bold, juicy Zinfandel blends are your style, however, this one could easily become a favorite. — 18 days ago
