Rich Madeiras are sweeter than the dry style and are also a deeper, darker, golden brown color. This one is sweet and full-bodied with a long, oak-noted finish. It still maintains the traditional Madeira characteristics of rasisins, dried apricots, brown sugar and caramel.

Rich, dark fruit. Bold and smooth on the palette with a lovely finish. Great when newly opened, but decant about an hour and marvel at how well balanced this gem is. Can’t go wrong with Rutherford grapes. — 6 days ago
Special occasion wine at Texas de Brazil - perfect pair with the menu. Opened up very nicely with rich dark notes, bold up front and a light finish. Brought sweet memories of our time in Mendoza last month ~ Happy Valentines Day — 14 days ago

Castelli Family Vineyards Estate Petite Sirah 2015 Ramona Valley, California
Deep purple in color with a short purplish rim.
Strong and fruity nose with blackberries, cooked plums, raisins, tobacco, licorice, oak, Indian spices, turmeric, vanilla, chocolates, mocha, light vegetables, safran, leather and peppercorn.
Full-bodied and bold with medium plus acidity and long legs.
Dry and very fruity on the palate with blackberries, black cherries, dried figs, licorice, raisins, vanilla, cedar, licorice, chocolates, coke, tobacco, spices, peppercorn and coffee.
Long finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a delicious Petite Sirah from Southern California. Rich, extracted, fruit forward and robust. Showing nice complexity with a great mouthfeel.
Although it is drinking very nicely now, it needs another 2 to 5 years of bottle time to become even better.
Needed an hour to open up properly in a decanter, and bring up all those flavors on the nose. Tasty and delicious. A great sipping wine.
100% Petite Sirah grapes were aged in Hungarian oak barrels for 30 months. A small production of only 48 cases.
14.1% alcohol by volume.

Lamb chops & some Temp from Paso. The Reserva is fantastic
Stomping Grounds: Rocky, fractured shale soils on a west-facing slope
Ethnicity: 78% Tempranillo, 22% Grenache
Sibli Stomping Grounds: Rocky, fractured shale soils on a west-facing
Bring out the Christmas wreaths, mulling spices, and cinnamon brooms, this wine smells like the holiday season! This is Epoch’s 3rd rendition of a Reserva – only having been produced in the 2009, 2012, and now 2013 vintages. In addition, this Tempranillo is the first of its kind to be exclusively from our Catapult Vineyard. The extra year plus in barrel permits more evolution of Tempranillo’s bold structure, yielding rich notes of barrel spice, integrated red fruits and chewy tannins. Once open, this wine should stay happy in the bottle for several days if kept at a cool temperature.
