Light straw . Quite rich and ripe on the nose , lemon oil , camomile, roasted nuts , touch of patisserie . Quite rich and decadent on the palate , yellow fruits and citrus peel. Pastry elements also coming through . Good length , round but good balance . For now and the next decade — a month ago

Medium deep ruby , light lightly pink rim. Quite wide noticeable tears . Touch of dried wood bark , blackcurrant , red fruits also , balsamic touches . Quite high gritty tannin , quite rich but with enough acidity . More tobacco and dried herbs also . Good length , touch of cassis and mineral . Needs time . Leave for a further 5 years , will improve over the next 5 to 10 . — a month ago
Curiosity finally got the best of me as it was a buddy’s birthday and he wanted to try this 2007. I think this received a three digit score, so whether points matter to you or not, it’s fun to try and get a data point.
Tried a glass right at pop, then drank from the decanter over the next 4-5hrs.
This was quite the rollercoaster. It was big and bruising the first hour, then blossomed in to an extremely smooth and balanced Bordeaux style blend. Dark red and black berry fruits, violets, mocha, dark chocolate and pipe tobacco all dominate the rich mid-palate. It seemed to somewhat shut down after 3+hrs, so either pop and enjoy or hold another three years for this drinking window. — a month ago
A lot of respect for This wine, but not my favorite. It’s super rich, deep, thick , syrupy. Heavy black licorice, chocolate, deep red fruits . Had w filet, but needed a ribeye . Just impressed grapes can produce this taste — 21 days ago
What an incredible year for this California blend. This full bodied Opus has an exquisite bouquet and a creamy texture of soft tannins and rich fruit. Flavors of this fabulous wine include plum, cherry and black pepper with hints of tobacco and leather. What a Christmas treat. — a month ago
