Corryvreckan The Ultimate Islay Single Malt Scotch Whiskey 1515

Smokey and sweet. After taste is okay. Lagavulin 16 has a much more distinctive and smoother after taste — 6 days ago

Quarter Cask Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky 1815

Nicely rounded with smaller cask. Maybe sherry or orloroso. Big peat per usual. — a month ago

Offerman Edition 11 Year Old Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky

This one really grew on me after a few sips. Nice smokiness to it. Lingered on the palate. Nicely done. — 2 months ago

Way too much peat for my taste but if you are into that you’ll love this one. — 2 months ago

Yes I guess you can call peat an acquired taste. But in this spectrum lagavulin is on the low scale.

Unpeated?! Ach! Give us more of a description, laddie. What sort of whiskey is an Isla whiskey without the peat?

Alas, the first and only unpeated Islay I’ve had, but remarkable at that. Bananas Foster and salted butterscotch, intense roasted vanilla and rich nutty wood in a big, round deep and smooth as silk frame all of which lingered for minutes after each sip.
