Mmmmm. Smoky, earthy, rich, dense, smooth. Tea, raisins, tobacco notes, reasonably integrated structure with some heft. Nothing like a good 15 year old Aglianico with the mouthfeel and finish of a young Amarone. — a month ago
New world Syrah is just so different from the Rhône. Deeper, darker, denser, though still mid weight and gentle. Much lighter smoke characteristics, more cassis, plum, dark berries. Some green bell pepper too. Smooth, very mild hint of the oak. Integrated soft tannins. Nice long finish. — 3 days ago
I thought I got a hint of apple compote with a light cinnamon. On the tongue it was persimmon and maybe acacia honey, but not too sweet. A good shot of acidity cutting through and minerality. — a month ago
Comparing both side by side. Left is Dijon 777 clone and right is F105 German clone. They are same year, same soil, same wine maker, same process. And uncorked and poured simultaneously. Color is almost identical. But flavor and aroma is really different. The 777 opened faster, is more aromatic, brighter cherry, a bit floral. The F105 is deeper, earthier, and has a different fruit characteristic, not sure what it is though. Sour cherry with a hint of balsamic? — 8 days ago

Unfortunately I can’t rate this. It is mildly corked. Really a hint, but it is suppressing the wine and cutting the fruit and finish out with a flat bit of cardboard. (We had a discussion and a disagreement on whether it was corked or not, it was faint and not noticeable to my wife but to me clearly corked). — a day ago
