typical Paso - too hot, overextracted and clumsy, BUT Petite Sirah has such a gorgeous aromatic & palate profile that this was still enjoyable. all the tell tale notes of deep dark fruit compote, coffee, cocoa, cassis, pepper, exotic spices - just a big audacious nose w/generous fleshy (flabby) palate, moderate tannins and modest finish — 2 days ago

believe this is Caprettone, grape i never heard of but this is a delightful wine from a DOC where i usually enjoy the red blends. this was a dull straw/greenish flecked color with an unusual nose of honeycomb, savory biscuit, herbaceous, minerals, funk, along with tart notes of some orchard fruit. we had with seafood pasta - working remarkably well. little age on this offered add'l intrigue & complexity, luxurious mouthfeel, lithe weight, balanced acidity. — 6 days ago

Last bottle — opened for an old friend and like the PN alongside, this was a stunner, nearly flawless. Intact cork, bunch of sediment, and after only half hour in the decanter it was game time. Had PN and this alongside gorgeous ribeye — 10 days ago
