Another solid vintage of this Uruguayan Cabernet Franc. Dark purple color with violet highlights. Aromas of black fruit, tar, violets and poblano peppers. Flavors of ripe blackberry, prunes, bramble berries, pepper spice and dark chocolate. Hint of mint on the long and fruit forward finish. Firm and chalky tannins and medium bodied. Well balanced and complex. Well crafted. Solid QPR. Thanks for including in your Cab Franc Tasting, Ron B! — 4 days ago
Dark ruby color. Aromas of black fruit, mint, poblano pepper and a pleasant funk. The palate features blackberry fruit, roasted vegetables, balsamic vinegar, fresh herbs and black pepper spice. Touch of vanilla on the long and lingering funky (almost animal-like) finish. Tannins, acidity and alcohol are very well balanced. Nice wine. Murky ruby color. Aromas of black fruit, violets and a pleasant funk. Flavors of black currant/plum/berries along with hints of green and black pepper. Full bodied, soft tannins and medium acidity. Fresh and brooding. Thank you for offering a glass of this one during your Cab Franc, Ron B! — 3 days ago
Light pink color. Complex aromas and flavors of red strawberries/plums/raspberries, cranberries, grapefruit, kiwi, watermelon, wild flowers and fresh herbs. Pleasant mineral note on the long finish. Zesty acidity and lovely texture. Crisp and refreshing. Pleasant surprise and very well made. Thanks for sharing Ron B and Aaron B! — 4 days ago
Bright garnet color with a ruby core. Aromas of tart red berry fruit, fresh herbs and funky roasted vegetables. Red fruit (cranberry, cherry, raspberry and pomegranate) on the palate with additional flavors of black tea, black pepper and those roasted vegetables. Note of wet stones and minerals on the very oaky finish. Chewy tannins and high acidity which actually balance themselves pretty well. Interesting. Very fruit forward (Fruit Bomb) California Cabernet Franc. Aromas and flavors of cranberry, red plum, pomegranate and cherry fruit. Additional notes of pot pourri, dark chocolate, orange zest and fresh herbs. Finish is quite earthy but just a bit short. Quite rich and opulent. Very smooth tannins but just not enough savory notes. Small production Cabernet Franc produced with Finger Lakes fruit. Light ruby color with a dark core. Aromas of green pepper, fresh herbs, purple flowers and black fruit. Showing more red fruit (raspberry and currants) on the palate with additional hints of graphite and black licorice. Finish is a bit short but the acidity is very bright and the tannins are silky. Very light bodied. You can sense the presence of Carbonic Maceration. Quite savory and green. (Fruit underripe?) Could handle being chilled. Thanks for sharing, Ron B! — 3 days ago
Dark ruby color with purple highlights. Aromas of black fruit, graphite and savory spices. Dried black cherry fruit leads the palate with additional notes of black currants, baking spices and milk chocolate. Pleasant amount of oak on the long finish. Nice complexity, silky tannins and reasonable balance. Missing the floral/funky qualities I look for in an Old World Cab Franc but still a solid wine. Dark ruby color. Aromas of black fruit, leather, jalapeño peppers, fresh herbs a touch of barnyard funk. Bright black and red berry/currant fruit on the palate with hints of black licorice, cedar and the aforementioned fresh herbs. Long finish and firm tannins. Quite fresh tasting and elegant. Perfectly aged. I thought I was drinking a light bodied Syrah. Thank you for including this wine in your Cabernet Franc Tasting, Ron B! — 4 days ago

Dark ruby color with purple highlights. Aromas of black fruit, leather, wet soil. Flavors of blackberries, black plums, black cherries, tobacco, bakers chocolate and minerals. Slight bit of vanilla and oak on the long, but very hot finish. The earthy quality and alcoholic heat dominate in this wine, which negatively affects its balance. Needs a long decant. Maybe some additional bottle age will mellow my other bottle. — a day ago
