Beautiful note of minerality on the long finish. Medium-minus body (but still a bit of heft) and refreshing acidity. Lovely silky texture for such a crisp wine. Outstanding QPR. Flavors of ripe black cherries and plums, cocoa powder, blueberries, black licorice and those exotic spices. Medium-plus finish and body with bright acidity. Slightly chewy but fine grained tannins. Another excellent vintage of this Sardinian clone of Grenache. Aromas of bright red fruit, dried violets, smoky oak and sweet baking spices. Flavors of juicy red cherry, raspberry and strawberry fruit, cola, tobacco and those baking spices. Long and lingering finish. Crisp, vibrant and refreshing acidity. There is a distinct “grapey quality” that shows through along with a small amount of RS. Medium finish and acidity. Lacks balance and complexity. Round and quite fruit forward, but also a bit flabby. 100% Sicilian Tannat! Who knew? Dark ruby/purple/black color. Aromas of ripe black fruit, spices and a mineral edge. Flavors of blackberry and black plum jam, mixed spices, especially black pepper. Long fruit dominated finish. No sign of oak aging. Well balanced and boldly structured. Less tannin than I would have expected. Plush and rich but in control.
