Château Phélan Ségur

Saint-Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend 2009

Last wine of ‘17. After one day open: blackberry, mulberry and meat juices. Iron and dark minerals. Finishes a bit hot. Grippy; good for at least another 7-10 years. #stestephe #bordeaux — 2 years ago

Quite a spicy Cos. This will likely not improve with more time but very nice now nonetheless #cos #bordeaux #stestephe — 5 years ago

Château Lafon-Rochet

Saint-Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend 1995

In perfect drinking condition, excellent. Forest floor, iron, the smell of a cracked cacao bar, savory spice and believe it or not a tad of blue cheese. Good palate intensity that is precise and controlled, medium to fine tannins caress the haunting dried fruit and savory long and fresh finish. #bluesheeseinmywinearoma #stestephe #lafonrochet — 6 years ago

Color is holding well with a light ruby core fading to a light red rim. Mellow intensity and med complexity with classic #bordeaux notes. Palate not showing as well as nose. Firm structure and medium finish. #lafonrochet #stestephe #ctbucklinwine — 3 years ago

Château Montrose

Saint-Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend 2004

Amazing proof that vintages do not matter sometimes. Elegant, persistent, yet solid as a rock. The nose was like a beautiful perfume, elegant, but complete with good hang time. Graphite, currants, fresh cut flowers, and fall leaves rise from the glass and caress the palate. Medium to firm tannins are starting to mellow. #montrose #stestephe #bordeaux — 6 years ago
