Starting the week off with the 2011 King Estate Pinot Noir from Eugene, OR. King Estate is located 20 miles southwest of Eugene, OR on the southwest edge of the Willamette Valley on 1033 acres certified organic vineyard. I tried this four years ago and it has seemed to have matured a bit sunce then in those four years. A more pleasurable wine this time around.
On the nose there is beautiful fruit of strawberry, cherry, red raspberry, cranberry, vanilla, a little barnyard, cola and a slight bit of licorice.
On the palate I am getting sour cherry, tart strawberry, red raspberry, pomegranate, vanilla, eucalyptus and a light oak note.
The wine is medium bodied with medium + acidity and medium smooth tannin that leads right into a medium to long beautiful tart fruit prolonged finish. A very nice wine that is an easy drinker. The week is starting off right so have a great week and be safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 5 days ago
On this the start of the weekend I opened the 2015 Soljans Estate Barrique Reserve Pinot Noir.
The nose has red raspberry, pomegranate, candied cherry, red plum and minerality.
On the palate there is pomegranate, cherry, plum, cinnamon, vanilla, cola, a bit of oak and minerality.

Monday night and I wanted to try a Méthode Traditionnelle Vouvray Brut. At 12% Alc. by Vol. I have opened the Domaine Vigneau-Chevreau Vouvray Brut 100% Chenin Blanc.
The nose reveals good perfumed fruit of yellow apple, peach, pear, honeydew melon and honey.
On the palate is loads of citrus, lime, yellow apple, pear, peach, herbal honey, ginger and wet river rocks.

Friday night enjoying a very nice Willamette Valley Pinot Noir with a good friend of many years. The 2011 Chehalem Three Vineyard Pinot Noir.
On the nose there is beautifully delicious red fruit, ripe strawberry, red raspberry, ripe tomato, clove, cola, vanilla, rose petal and some dry earthy soil.
On the palate is red raspberry, strawberry, cherry, cranberry, cola, vanilla and a forest floor component.

Sunday night's wine is the 2015 Argyle Grower Series Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley Oregon.
The nose has cherry, raspberry, cranberry, clove, vanilla, sassafrass and earth.
On the palate there is cherry, red raspberry, cranberry, cola, oak and a nice earthy note.

Saturday nights all right for wine. I have opened the 2015 Paolo Scavino Langhe Nebbiolo 14.5% Alc. by Vol.
On the nose there is cherry, raspberry, anise, mint, rose petal, light leather and dry soil.
Upon first sip this is a dry wine on the palate with tart cherries, raspberry, anise, floral notes, herbaceousness and an earthy component.

I was walking through one of my local wine shops and saw this bottle of wine with a bottle cap on it. I had seen in articles that this was a thing now and I had to see what this was. A Zweigelt from Austria and I had to try this, plus it had this bottle cap. I heard of Zweigelt and knew it is a cross between the St. Laurent and Blaufrankisch grapes so I just had to get this and it is a 1 Liter bottle to boot.
The nose reveals cherry, red raspberry, mint, dusty earthy floral notes and a minerality.
On the palate there is sour cherries, strawberry, kirsch, red currant, a floral aspect, an earthy component and mineral notes.
The wine is medium to light in body with medium acidity and medium smooth tannins that lead to a medium fresh prolonged finish. This is an easy drinker that can be drank alone or with food. Friday night and I have opened the 2013 Saarloos & Sons Little Boy Syrah. This comes from the Ballard Canyon AVA of the Central Coast of California in Santa Barbara County. Keith Saarloos and the Saarloos Family do a wonderful job in their winemaking and this Little Boy Syrah is no exception.
On the nose there is beautiful fruit of blackberry, blueberry, mint, licorice, cola, clove, all spice and a chocolate note.
On the palate the fruit comes through very nicely with lovely notes of blackberry, blueberry, black pepper, licorice, clove, a herbaceousness and some well blended oak.

Wednesday night's middle of the week wine is the 2010 Château Gressier Grand Poujeaux. This wine is a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Merlot and made in conjuction with Château Chasse-Spleen.
The nose reveals juicy dark fruit, black cherry, black raspberry, black plum, black currant, licorice, violet floral notes, chocolate and an earthiness.
The palate leads us to the same juicy dark fruits of black cherry, blackberry, black plum, black currant, herbal notes, licorice, violet florals, toasty oak and good earthy notes.

It is Friday and I have unscrewed an easy drinker to start the weekend off right again from Austria. The 2016 Weingut Stadt Krems Kremstal Grüner Veltliner 12.5% Alc. By Vol. Light green to clear in color.
On the nose it is beautifully perfumed with lemon, lime, white flowers, white pepper, spice and definite mineral tones.
On the palate the nose is confirmed with loads of lemon, lime peel, white pepper, spice and minerality.
