Last night I opened the 2019 Mongrana Maremma Rosso Toscana. Tuscany, Italy. This wine is a Super Tuscan blend of 50% Sangiovese, 25% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon.
On the nose there is cherry, red plum, blackberry, tomato, chocolate, leather, nlack pepper and wet gravel.
On the palate I am detecting cherry, raspberry, plum, red currant, spice, herbal notes and wet gravel.

This wine is the 2012 Sea Smoke Southing Sea Smoke Estate Vineyard Pinot Noir.
On the nose there is raspberry, cranberry, cherry, mushroom, clove, forest floor and earth.
On the palate I get plenty of raspberry, tart cherry, cranberry, clove, soft oak, mushroom and earth.
This is a medium bodied wine withe a smooth mouthfeel medium+ to high acidity and medium fine tannins that lead to a medium to medium + red fruit earthy finish. This wine I had the other night is the 2019 Pierre Sparr Grande Réserve Riesling. From Alsace - Beblenheim, France.
On the nose there is citrus, lemon, bicycle tire, pear, green apple, vanilla and minerality.
On the palate there is lemon, lime, peach, green apple, golden delicious apple and good minerality.

Over the weekend we opened the 2018 David Paige Wines Willamette Valley Pinot Noir. From Carlton, Oregon and a blend of grapes from Chehalem Mountains, Ribbon Ridge and Eola-Amity Hills.
On the nose there was strawberry, cranberry, cherry, clove, mushroom, hibiscus, vanilla and earth.
On the palate there is tart cherry, raspberry, cranberry, clove, mushroom, vanilla and earth.
This is a medium bodied wine with medium + acidity and medium fine tannins that moves easily into a long red fruit earthy finish. A very nice expression of Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley. Last night I opened this 2019 Juan Gil Silver Label Monastrell. This is from the Bodegas Juan Gil Jumilla, Spain, 100% Monastrell (Mourvèdre).
On the nose there is black plum, blackberry, blueberry, black pepper, violet, gravel and earth.
On the palate there is blackberry, blueberry, plum, black cherry, black pepper, spice, soft oak, gravel and earth.

Last night I opened the 2016 Château Rose Sainte-Croix made from Left Bank Bordeaux grapes mainly the Médoc - Listrac. The blend is 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Merlot.
On the nose there is black cherry, blackberry, black plum, black currant, menthol, licorice, spice, some oak and dark earth.
On the palate I am getting black cherry, blackberry, black currant, cedar, licorice, tobacco, herbs, a vegital note, spice and earth.

Over the weekend I opened the 2018 Château Pgélan Ségur Saint-Estèphe Left Bank Bordeaux. A blend of 57% Cabernet Sauvignon and 43% Merlot.
On the nose was very expressive and floral, black cherry, blackberry, fig, black currant, licorice, creamy chocolate, iron, violets and earth.
On the palate was black cherry, blackberry, black plum, black currant, licorice, spice, minerality, light oak, herbal and dark rich earth.
This is a full bodied wine wiyg smooth fresh mouthfeel mouthwatering medium + acidity and medium + grainy tannins that leaves you with a long black fruit earthy graphite finish.
