Tonight I have opened the 2012 Prunotto Barolo. A beautiful to look at ruby in color, almost looks like a pinot noir in color.
Initially the nose was very weak, but with letting the wine sit and then aggressive swirling this wine began to reveal itself. Red fruit came forth with cherry notes and raspberry. Then I was able to detect licorice, alcohol, vanilla, rose, white pepper and dusty soil.
On the palate the same red fruit was very prevalent with notes of tart cherry, raspberry, licorice, clay pot, eucalyptus, menthol, herbs and earth.
This is a medium to full bodied wine more to the medium bodied side with medium+ acidity and medium+ fine chewy tannins that lead to an elegant finesse driven long finish. With Christmas upon us please while out and about doing your shopping and visiting please be safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 2 days ago
This afternoon I stopped at a fee wine stores looking for a nice wine to try tonight and I came upon the 2014 Betz Family Winery Clos de Betz Bordeaux Blend. I have been wanting to try the Betz wines for some time now and I finally pulled the trigger on this one. A blend of 71% Merlot, 19% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petit Verdot.
This wine is beautifully complex on the nose with black cherry, blackberry, plum, black currant, vanilla, caramel, mocha and graphite.
The dark fruit continues through on the palate with black cherry, blackberry, plum, blueberry, black currant, vanilla, caramel, mocha and graphite.
This wine is full bodied with a smooth lush velvety mouthfeel. There is medium to + acidity and medium + rounded tannins that lead right to a long sweet dark fruit finish. A beautiful wine with many years of life to go. I am glad to have tried this and I will be off to purchase a few more bottles Have a wonderful rest of your week and please stay safe. It is Friday night once again and to great the weekend I have opened the 2014 Gundlach-Bundschu Merlot Sonoma Valley Sonoma County. 84% Merlot, 8% Malbec, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Petit Verdot, what the othe 1% is I was unable to find that out.
Upon opening the nose reveals dark juicy fruit, blackberry, black cherry, pomegranate, raspberry, mocha, smokey oak and dry earthy notes.
The palate reveals confirmation of the nose, black cherry, black raspberry, black plum, spice, sweet tobacco, herbs, smokey oak and rich earthy notes.

Monday night and to start the week I have opened the 2015 Albert Morot Beaune Bressandes Premier Cru Pinot Noir. This beautifully aromatic and energetically palate pleasing pinot noir is a perfect way to start a week off right.
On the nose is beautiful red fruit, cherry, strawberry, raspberry, cranberry, barnyard, clove, cola, vanilla and cinnamon.
On the palate the beautiful red fruit continues through with cranberry, tart raspberry, tart cherry, strawberry, rose petals mushroom and dry earth.

Tonight is my 500th review here at Delectable and I have enjoyed each and every one. The wine I am reviewing tonight is the 2010 Clos de la Briderie Touraine Mesland Vieilles Vignes Rouge Blend from the Loire Valley. This blend is 40% Côt Noir (Malbec), 30% Cabernet Franc and 30% Gamay Noir.
On the nose there is good red fruit yet a little muted, raspberry, strawberry, pomegranate, vanilla, mocha and dusty soil.
On the palate is a delicate elegance of the same red fruit, strawberry, raspberry, cherry, plum, bell pepper, black pepper, spice and a ice minerality.

It's Wednesday night and I am starting the Thanksgiving weekend off with the 2015 Bergström Cumberland Reserve Willamette Valley Pinot Noir.
On the nose there is an abundant amount of red fruits that is prevalent with every sniff. Notes of strawberry, cherry, cranberry, some barnyard, rose petals, wet leaves, herbs and dusty soil.
The palate reveals notes of bing cherries, cranberry, raspberry, mint, dried herbs, rose petals and dried earth.

It is Saturday night and I had a taste for a Cabernet Franc. A few days ago I picked up the 2015 Raats Family Cabernet Franc Stellenbosch. It has been awhile since I have had a wine from South Africa and this is a great expression of a quality Cab Franc.
On the nose there is strawberry, raspberry, red plum, red currant, vanilla, green bell pepper herbs and crushed gravel.
The palate reveals green bell pepper, strawberry, raspberry, herbs, spice, crushed gravel and good earth tones.

Tonight I have the pleasure of tasting the 2012 Château Montrose Saint-Estèphe. 57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot.
The nose has beautiful aromas of black currant, black cherry, blackberry, rose's, mushroom, pencil shavings, herbs, eucalyptus and mocha.
A very expressive palate of black currant, blackberry, black cherry, cassis, black pepper and green bell pepper.
This wine is full bodied with a silky smooth mouth feel, medium + acidity and medium + mouth coating tannins that extend out to a long clean dark fruit finish. The day after Thanksgiving I have opened the 2016 Evolúció Furmint Tokaj, Hungary. Had the taste for a nice white wine after the reds I have had over the past few weeks. It is nice to switch things up and always good to try wines from different regions.
On the nose aromas of white flowers are prevalent with, white peach, lemon, grapefruit, orange peel and herbs.
The palate reveals notes of lemon, orange, lemon, lime, green apple and a bit of herbal back note.

Today I had the pleasure of having the 2011 Tenuta Dell' Ornellaia Bolgheri Superiore. 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Franc and 6% Petit Verdot. A beautiful expression of the "Ornellaia" and you would never know that it is 7 years old, it seems a lot younger than that.
On the nose the black fruit is very prevalent with black cherry, black raspberry, black currant, licorice, menthol, herbs, chocolate, pencil shavings and dusty soil.
On the palate the dark fruit continues through with black cherry, black raspberry, black currant, licorice, violet, coffee, spice, smokey oak and rich soil.
