Tonight's Friday night wine is the 2014 Casa Silva Carménère Cuvée Colchagua.
The nose has good red fruit of strawberry, red raspberry, sweet cherry, spice, green peppercorn, green bell pepper, herbaceous and minerality.
On the palate I am able to tell there is tart raspberry, tart plum, green bell pepper which it seems this wine maker seems to really love as well do I, vanilla, a bit of oak, herbaceousness, a minerality and a dusty soil note.
The wine is medium bodied with medium + acidity, medium soft tannin that leads to a medium + finish. A nice wine that can be enjoyed now or later. Have a great weekend and be safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 4 days ago

Last night with friends our second wine was another beautiful Bordeaux Blend a Right Bank Blend this time also from the Ciel du Cheval Vineyard. The 2010 Andrew Will Ciel du Cheval Red Blend 52% Merlot and 48% Cabernet Franc. Andrew Will from Vashon Island, Washington is one of my favorite producers. Chris Camarda since 1989 has blended wine and his wine he says "I am not interested in the similarities of my winesbut the differences. The different identities of our vineyards and varietals which explore the identity of Washington State as distinct as California or Bordeaux." I think he does this very well.
On the nose I got black cherry, red raspberry, cassis, fresh herbs, violets and fresh earthy soil.
On the palate there is black cherry, blackberry, blueberry, black currant, licorice, green bell pepper, iron and rich tolled soil.
The wine is medium to full bodied with medium + acidity, medium + soft velvety tannins that lead to a long excellent complex finish. Have a great coming week, be safe and continued well wishes. Nostrovia!🍷🍷🍷🍷 — a month ago
On Friday I had the pleasure of enjoying the 2014 Tenuta dell' Ornellia "Ornellaia" Bolgheri. 34% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot, 20% Petit Verdot and 14% Cabernet Franc. This is the second Ornellaia I have had the pleasure of tasting. The first was the 2013 which was smoother and a bit more in tune yet both very smooth and enjoyable.
The nose of the 2014 has notes of black cherry, blackberry, plum, black currant, lilac, clove, iron, oak and nice earthiness.
On the palate was black cherry, blackberry, plum, black currant, sage, leather, graphite and smoky oak.
This wine is medium in body, medium + acidity, medium + smooth tannins that leads to a long fruity finish. An enjoyable wine yet a bit young that has at least 20 years to go. Enjoy your weekend and be safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 10 days ago

It is Saturday night and it is raining outside. What better way to enjoy a rainy night then opening up a Willamette Valley Pinot Noir. I have opened the 2013 Bethel Heights Estate Pinot Noir to enjoy while watching some hockey.
Upon opening, fresh red fruit is ever present with cherry, strawberry, cranberry, vanilla, roe petal, mushroom and light earth.
The first sip is mineral driven with good red fruit, cherry, cranberry, raspberry, pomegranate, mushroom and a nice earthy forest soil.
This wine is well balanced with a medium body mouth feel, medium to + acidity, medium smooth rounded tannins and a fresh vibrant medium long finish. Continue having a great weekend and be safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — a month ago
