Tonight's wine is a wine I have been storing for quite a while. The 2004 Lan Rioja Reserva a Tempranillo blend.
On the nose there is black cherry, prune, fig, black currant, licorice, leather, tar and earth.
On the palate I am getting black cherry, black plum, blackberry, black currant, licorice, tobacco, violets and rich soil.
This wine is medium to full body silky and is still vibrant after this many years with medium minus acidity and medium + fine tannins that lead to a medium to long rustic finish. Tonight I have opened the Right Bank 2015 Château Montlandrie Castillon Cótes de Bordeaux. The winemaker is the owner Denis Durantou with a blend of 75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.
With an expressive nose of black cherry, blackberry, plum, black currant, licorice, violets, menthol and crushed gravel.
On the palate is black cherry, blackberry, black plum, black currant, black pepper, licorice, bakers chocolate and graphite.

I know it is Tuesday evening but I wanted to try this 2016 Deltetto Clone 777 Langhe Pinot Nero. I had picked this up about a week ago and had a taste for a pinot noir or nero tonight. An Italian pinot noir from the Langhe of Piedmont.
On the nose there is mutes notes of cherry, strawberry, raspberry, rose petals, sassafras and dusty soil.
On the palate I have notes of cherry, cranberry, raspberry, clove, licorice, wet leaves and dried summer soil.
This wine is medium bodied with medium to + acidity and medium + mouth coating grippy tannins that lead right into a medium to long pleasing finish. Fathers Day is upon us and I wish all Fathers a wonderful weekend. Today I had opened the 2013 Gaja Sugarille Pieve Santa Restituta Brunello de Montalcino 100% Sangiovese.
The aromas are very prominent with notes of cherry, plum, blueberry, thyme, herbs, dried Rose's, broken brick chips, graphite and dried soil.
On the palate there is cherry, plum, red raspberry, spice, balsamic, thyme, leather and a nice earthy component.

On this Memorial Day holiday when we honor those that have come before us and sacrificed their lives and fought for our freedoms so we can have the things we cherish today. I today have opened the 2015 Lemelson Vineyard Cuvée X Willamette Valley Pinot Noir.

Tonight I had a taste for Champagne and I have opened the Moët & Chandon Imperial Brut. A blend of mainly Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier and 10% to 20% Chardonnay.
On the nose there is musty pear, strawberry, bruised apple, lemon, toast and yeasty bread
On the palate there is creamy lemon curd, citrus notes, lemon, brioche, toast and limestone.
This wine is medium bodied with a creamy mouth feel. There is an abundant creamy mousse with medium + acidity that leads to a medium to long fresh finish. We are upon another weekend and tonight I have opened the 2016 Saint-Damien Classique Vieilles Vigne Gigondas. This is a Rhone Blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Mourvèdre.

On the palate the nose is confirmed with black cherry, black raspberry, black currant, black pepper, lots of spicy nuance, licorice and earth.
This wine is medium to full bodied with medium + acidity and medium grippy mouth coating tannins that lead to a long rich dark fruit finish. The palate reveals the notes of tart cherry, plum, raspberry, red currant, violet, licorice and dry earth.

Thursday evening and tonight I have opened the 2017 Terredora Di Paolo Corte di Giso Irpinia Falanghina from the Campania Region of Italy North of Naples.
On the nose there is notes of green apple, banana, white flowers and a touch of herbaceous notes.
The palate shows notes of green apple, pear, stone fruit, wet river rock, a hint of herbs and good minerality.
