I opened the 2019 Venge Silencieux Cabernet Sauvignon a couple nights ago. This is a blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Petit Verdot and 2% Merlot.
On the nose is black cherry, blackberry, plum sauce, black currant, chocolate, herbs, spice and black pepper.
On the palate is black cherry, blackberry, plum, black currant, cassis, vanilla, lavender, wood, green bell pepper and earth.

This is the 2011 Sandrone Cannubi Brochis Barolo. Single Vineyard from Piedmont. A wonderful wine we enjoyed this week.
On the nose the is strawberry, cherry, rose, graphite, balsamic, mint and pepper.
On the palate there is cherry, black raspberry, black plum, spice, pepper, herbs and light chocolate.
This is a full bodied wine with a smooth mouthfeel medium + acidity and medium+ firm fine tannins that leaves you with a beautiful red & black fruit underbrush finish. We opened the 2021 Occidental Freestone-Occidental Pinot Noir. This is from the West Sonoma Coast. Wine Spectators #2 wine on their list of 100 is every bit deserving of this spot. If you are a lover of Pinot Noir this is a must have.
The nose is very beautifly expressive and aromas just jump out at you strawberry, cranberry, raspberry, sour cherry, clove, violets, baking spice, vanilla and forest floor.
On the palate is sour cherry, strawberry, raspberry, clove, kirsch, violets, spice and minerals.
This is a medium bodied wine with a smooth silky mouthfeel medium to medium + acidity and medium fine silky tannins that leaves you with a medium to long red fruit mineral earthy finish. We opened this the 2017 Bryant Family DB4 Red Wine Blend. This is from St. Helena, California Napa Valley. Blend of 73% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot.
On the nose is black cherry, cherry, blackberry, blueberry, black currant, herbaceous, brambles and forest floor.
On the palate is black cherry, blackberry, blueberry, black currant, herbaceous, pepper, vegetal, licorice and earth.

Last night I decided to start opening some older wines I have stored in my wine room. This is the 2010 Groth Oakville Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. The blend is 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot.
On the nose there is black cherry, blackberry, black plum, black currant, licorice, spice, tar, mineral and gravel
On the palate is black cherry, blackberry, black currant, bell pepper, spice, licorice, gravel and earth.
This wine is full bodied with a smooth mouthfeel medium + acidity and medium + fine rounded tannins that leaves you with a long dark fruit graphite gravel finish. I hope everyone is doing well.
