The wine I have selected tonight is the 2016 Poggio Anima Asmodeus Nero D'Avola.
Upon first sniff this wine shows very tight. I think we will have to wait awhile to let it open up. After about 2 hours this wine starts to show itself. I am getting black cherry, black plum, raspberry, licorice, spices, vanilla and violets.
On the palate it also was a very difficult wine at the beginning. Letting it open up over those 2 hours was very beneficial, it really opened up and showed dark cherry, strawberry, tart plum, licorice, herbs, spice , vanilla and dusty earth.
This is a medium to full bodied wine with medium + acidity and medium + fine tannins that leads to a medium to long finish. Stay safe and enjoy your rest of the week. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷 — 12 days ago

The palate shows notes of raspberry, tart strawberry, tart plum, green bell pepper, violets and crushed gravel.
This wine is very young and is medium bodied with mouth watering medium + acidity and medium + fine sandy tannins that lead to a long interesting finish. Because it is young I think this will grow into a nice cab franc in another 5-10 years. Enjoy your weekend, enjoy your wine and be safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — a month ago
Welcome to the weekend and I have opened the 2017 Colene Clemens Vinyards Dopp Creek Estate Pinot Noir - Chehalem Mountains.
On the nose there us strawberry, blackberry, cherry, clove, menthol, cola, smokey oak and sassafras.
The palate gives me cherry, pomegranate, raspberry, cola, clove, baking spices, smokey oak and an earth component.
This wine is medium to full bodied with medium plus acidity and medium smooth tannins that brings you to a medium to long smokey oak finish. If you like a big presents of oak in your pinot noir this is for you. I would say this leans more towards a California Pinot Noir than an Oregon Pinot Noir that I have come to love. This is a nice over all pinot noir but the oak is just to much for me. Have a great weekend, stay safe and enjoy a nice wine. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷 — a month ago

This afternoon a good friend and I shared the 2011 Domaine Berrien Cellars Crown of Cab. The wine is a blend of 37% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, 9% Petit Verdot and 4% Malbec. Your classic Bordeaux blend and again from my favorite winery in Southwest Michigan.

The wine is full bodied with medium + acidity and medium + sandy tannins that leads to a long clean dark fruit finish. What a pleasant and surprising experience we enjoyed this afternoon. I loved how this wine has developed over time and given another 5 to 10 years it will continue to gracefully age. This is Domaine Barrien's flagship wine and for the price you can't beat it. Enjoy the rest of the weekend and have a great week ahead. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — a month ago
