Wine enthusiast enjoying wine to its fullest. Territory Manager in the upper Midwest.
The wine I have chosen tonight is a little bit different, the 2010 Sante'Elena Cabernet Franc from the Friuli region of Italy. I love cabernet franc and I don't venture to far from the Loire Valley of France but maybe now I should venture out more often.
The nose is very expressive with notes of strawberry jam, red raspberry, plum, green bell pepper, smokey oak, a bit of funk and dry gravel.
On the palate the red fruits come through with strawberry, red plum, and red raspberry. The green bell pepper is in abundance with licorice, sweet oak and finishing off with chalky dy gravel.
The wine is medium bodied with medium + acidity and medium + sandy tannins that lead right into a long enjoyable fruity finish. A very nice gratifying wine that has changed my mind and is making me search out other cabernet franc that may be around the next corner. The week is still a head of us and we can all look forward to enjoyable special wines out there. Have a great week and continue to be safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 3 days ago
