Rioja Tempranillo 2015

Tasted on two separate occasions with lamb (night #1), beef (night #2).

On night #2, you could taste more the spice than on night#1.

Good wine but may try another from the same region

Château Couhins

La Dame de Couhins Pessac-Léognan Red Bordeaux Blend 2015

Bordeaux tour #3: this one is pretty great too. Round, and really well done but with more depth than #2. Good amount of red berries vs darker tanins. Had it on a tuna steak at a low temperature. — 15 days ago

Coste & Fossati Dolcetto d'Alba 2018

Piemonte tasting #2
Beautiful, dark sour cherries, with a bit of kirsch and a touch of spice. Juicy, very juicy on the palate with fresh, sappy tannins and great purity of fruit. Slightly rustic yet full of character and personality. This is just a beauty and even better slightly chilled.
A great wine.

Theopolis Vineyards

North Coast Petite Sirah 2015

Ah, the Yorkville Highlands... more than just the fabled place where I totaled my car last fall. Those rocky hillsides produce some sensational juice and this wine is no exception. Inky and hedonistic AF, but pulls it off with elegance, tannic structure and enough vibrancy to elevate this wine far beyond guilty pleasure. And besides, what else would you want with a bacon cheese burger & onion rings?
Blueberry coulis and black pepper fade into violets and warm spice on the finish. Definitely opened this bottle too early but have no regrets. I look forward to seeing how bottle
#2 evolves over the next few years. All hail, Theodora, Queen of Petite Sirah!

Château Cantemerle

Les Allées de Cantemerle Haut-Médoc Red Bordeaux Blend 2015

Bordeaux tour #2: Well balanced. Nothing crazy. Just a nice Bordeaux. Definitely worth buying again. — 16 days ago

Anderson Valley Pinot Noir 2016

Pinot Noir #2: We decided to compare a 2016 to the 2015. A little tart compared to the 2015 and slightly higher alcohol (at 13.9% vs. 13.5%). Slightly smokier with dark chocolate. Could age a few more years. Will get better with age. — a month ago
