The nose was much more expressive than the palate showing a mixture of just ripened black fruit, gravel, pencil shavings, flowers, and cedar. The palate was medium bodied and slightly austere. Med finish. #chateaudugrandbos #graves #bordeaux #ctbucklinwine — 7 years ago
Depth of purple-black is stunning. Rim to rim unvarying. Currant leaf, black currant blackberry, burnt plum, smoke, mussel shell, morel, black cherry powder, African violet. Rich and focused both in mouthfeel and expression. Moist pipe tobacco, black cherry, graphite, dark chocolate, blueberry skins, cedar, cinnamon and dried violets. Generous finish with herbal-fruit interplay magnificently articulated.

Pale straw hue and glorious citrus, peach, dried apricot, chalk, and white flower notes on the nose. Balanced and complex palate. Light and elegant. Vintage 2017. ABV 13%. 60% Sauvignon Blanc and 30% Semillon. .

Vintage 2014 - crimson rim, very dark colour, very young and less accessible than other Bordeaux I tasted from 14. There are promising hints of cherries in the smell, laurel, leather-tones and a hint of chocolate and mocca. Powerfull in taste. Partly made of 'vieilles vignes' and one can taste this. Good concentration. Promising domain. #bordeaux #graves #vieillesvignes #cabernetsauvignon #merlot — 7 years ago
Black baked cherry, Connecticut tobacco, cedar chest, spruce, licorice. Dried violet palate, bay leaf, espresso, cocoa nib, lavender, buckwheat, chewy, with a metallic, oceanic depth. Really well built machine. Take her for a spin!

Complex and quaffable #pessacleognan #graves GCC Bordeaux blend. Served cold there are some wild onion notes, yellow citrus but as it warms up a bit in the glass it balances out nicely and with forward fruit and an luscious mouthfeel. It would be outstanding with fresh oysters. — 5 years ago

Incredible depth of color rim to rim without variation. Inky. Showing slight brick under strong light. Nose of rye toast, tobacco, turned earth, black cherry, oak bark, crumbly roses, dried lavender, and sage. Descriptors do not do justice to the seamless whole of the smells, which are sewn together with espresso and bay leaf, allspice and forest notes. Smooth and silky tannins slip over medium mouthfeel of dried mushroom and graphite, re-emerge as round textural tapestries, filled with candle smoke, dark, rich cherry and ripe black currants. A stunner that needed days of exposure to fully emerge. Enticing and exquisite.
