Medium lemon core . Some ripe pear , citrus, white flowers , light white peach and red apple notes also with just a touch of toastiness. Quite ripe and generous on the nose . On the palate this is also generous in style , creamy ripe pear and lightly honied apple , white peach , though there are some more chalky , seashell elements that turn up on the finish . This is quite rounded but has enough energy and acidity to balance well, alcohol is also balanced , and there is a light saline hint also on the moderate length finish . This is drinking well now and I don’t see it being particularly long lived , so best over the next 5 years or so — a day ago

Medium lemon straw , slight deeper than the P2 1998 served alongside . More persistent perlage than the P2, very fine . Here the nose is slightly deeper and more penetrating, with rich spiced citrus , buttered brioche , crushed chalk , seashell hints . This is powerful and dense on the palate , lemon , mineral , and chalky hints , fresh and vital, white flowers , even a touch of Indian spice. Long and balanced , still pretty youthful and probably needs more time to fully integrate the shear extract this has on the palate. Perfectly formed , with a fantastic future , better in 5 -8 years and will last a further decade. The complete package, spellbinding. — 4 days ago

Medium lemon /straw . Quite ripe fruit , with apricot , peach , touch of toasty oak . Again richer and riper on the palate , with yellow fruits , quite a lot of oak , toasty notes . Ok length and intensity . Medium acidity and a creamy mouthfeel . Quite a textual wine. Well balanced , reasonable length finish. Drink from now and over the next 5 -8 years. — a month ago

Medium straw lemon colour . This is quite rich on the nose with lemon pith , touch of smoke , ginger and creamy , honeysuckle notes . On the palate this shows more yellow fruits, peach , apricot and lemon , good acidity and balance. Quite intense and long with chalky touches. Drinking well now but still quite fruit dominated. A really good bottle , completely another experience than the overly advanced bottle last year , this one showing youth and freshness , ripeness and intensity . Lovely now but will continue and probably improve over the next 5-10 years . — 4 days ago

Medium lemon straw colour . Quite complex and youthful nose , some ripe apple, white peach, mint , wet stones , some floral hints , marmalade and a hint of petrol . On the palate this is quite bold and dense in style with , intense with some ripe apple , white peach , light herbal touch and a very saline , slate driven finish . Hints of citrus peel and camomile. Balanced acidity , good balance if quite rich in style , lots of extract , with a pretty dry , good length citrus tinged finish . Still young and on the basis of this bottle , just entering its drinking window, from now and over the next 15 years . This really does change in the glass and needs some time to show its best, becoming more focused and mineral, the richness giving way to layers of mineral extract and salinity. Medium lemon yellow. Quite reserved at first with some honied , yellow fruits , peach conserve , pear and quince , touch of candle wax . On the palate this is intense and with well balanced acidity, good extract and freshness , pear , honied apple , lightly toasty finish . Good length and still showing very well , now and over the next 10 years . Still fresh and lively. — a month ago

Medium straw colour , quite fine relatively persistent perlage . Quite discreet at first with some orange peel , meaty porcini , still quite fresh and lively though , delicate touches of toasted brioche, white chocolate . On the palate this is quite refined and delicate in style , fruit peel , orange pith , porcini , brioche, touch of hazelnut . Good grippy acidity , saline , with decent , lightly toasty finish . This is fully mature and probably still at peak , not perhaps the longest or most complex DP, but perfectly well balanced and proportioned. Now and over the next few years , don’t think this will improve much from here . — 4 days ago

Medium deep ruby garnet with wide garnet rim . Open and classic on the nose with tobacco , grafite , herbal , mint , seaweed and some mixed summer fruits . On the palate this is quite fresh and slightly lean in style , quite rustic , bitty tannins and a herbal touch. Mixed summer fruits on the mid palate and a reasonable earthy tobacco tinged finish . Best drunk now and over the next few years on the basis of this bottle . — 2 months ago
