My first experience with Chateau Latour and it was stupid good. Decanted and enjoyed over a few hours, it was amazing to taste how it softened over the course of the evening. Dense and very structured early on, silkier and just yummy as time went on.

Always a treat to drink legendary wines like this one. Served blind in the garden at my parents house, the settlements weren’t perfect, but still the true quality shone though. Developed dark berries, partially dried and framed by bitter chocolate notes and pronounced minerality. Great finish, broad and self confident. In a perfect spot already.

Tightly wound. Closed. Needing 4 to 6 hours of air for the tannins to yield, but that would still not release the complex depth this wine holds for those who allow it to mature for another 20 years.

One of the best Latour wines that I have had in years. Light and lifted, great depth and freshness.
