Wine tastes that much better with family and friends. A founding member of The Wine Nerd Herd!
12’ Favia La Magdalena. Couldn’t wait any longer, had to open a bottle.
Even split of Cabernet/Cabernet Franc.
Holy smokes! I taste a dozen different things in this wine. Nothing stands out. If you have an opportunity to pick a few bottles up… Do it! Drink over the next 10+ years. CF blend Genius! — 3 days ago
12’ Hourglass HGIII Dence richness to it. 1st vintage- Merlot /Cab/ Melbec . All upfront fruits. Ripe black cherry, powdered coco, tobacco. Very little length on the back of the palate. Nice acidity. Good bottle. Edit- Tasting much better then a year ago. That’s strange… I was told this is a wine that drinks in it’s youth? Guessing six years old is still young. — a day ago
13’ Carte Blanche Sonoma Coast Chardonnay. I first opened a bottle of this a year ago. I knew they needed some time. Unlike the 2012 that was heavily oak influenced.
Brighter, notes emerge after the wine has opened up in the glass for 20/30 minutes. Notes of poached pear, honeysuckle, crushed rock, light acidity . Nice bottle. This is much more “terroir- driven”. 180° different then previous vintages. I’ll open a 14 soon to see if it’s a bit more promising 🤞 — 3 days ago
07’ Blackbird Paramour 50% Merlot 45% CF 5% CB
Like most of these wines from Blackbird. Dark ruby red in color. The palate is full of blackberry, boysenberry, black cherry black licorice, peppercorn?!? All mid & back palate. Drink them up soon. — 3 days ago
