Wine tastes that much better with family & friends. The Wine Nerd Herd.
13’ Aubert UV-SL Chardonnay. Needs 30 minutes in the glass. Medium + bodied.
It exhibits aromas of Pear, mango, pineapple, baked apple & subtle background spiced wood(age). A mix of tropical fruit, salinity, moderate acidity finish to it. Very balanced. Drink these up in the next 2/3 years. Has the ability to age another 5+. Cheers! Edit- Personally this is about as old as I like drinking my Aubert Chardonnay’s. Double Edit- Until this one. — 5 days ago
18’ Eidos de Padrinan Albariño, Rias Baixas.
Mango & lime skins are on the nose. This has the feel of chewy citrus fruits, a mix of up front tropical fruit flavors, splash of creaminess!??! 🤷🏻♂️ that linger through the palate!?! Light acidity cleans the rest of the palate. Not the most complex wine in the world. Just fun to drink! Delicious... $22 a bottle. Love this one. Thank goodness I have five more. Cheers! — 11 days ago
14’ Aubert UV-SL. Wine Nerd Herd virtual tasting. Been fortunate enough to have this wine a dozen times. Unlike the 2013 I had last week, this has seen better days. Still delicious & won’t turn down a glass/bottle. It certainly will drink for many years to come. The 2013 has got another 5/8 years in it.. I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase a case of the 13.
Makes points of subtlety & finesse, with touches of cream, smoky oak, apple & pear, light acidity ,falls short towards the end of the glass. Ending with a poached pear & oaky finish. — 16 hours ago
14’ Bevan Wildfoote -Vixen. WNH- virtual tasting. Decanted for two hours. Consumed over the next three. Took more then a few hours for it to come around. I always hate it when the last glass taste better than the first. Beautiful wine. Sit on them for another couple of years. IMO — 8 days ago
16’ Arietta The White Keys
These wines are a little abrasive when they’re first released. Opens up in the glass 5 minutes later. Pale yellow in color.
Orange mango, honeydew. peach, fresh fig. The light acidity flows throughout the glass. Beautifully made. Consistency of this white wine year after year. Drink them up in the next 2/3 years. — 9 days ago
12’ Harmon Story Late Bloomer. Wine nerd herd virtual tasting. Rusty red in the glass. This Grenache is without a doubt on the lighter style. Aromas of red cherry, salt & pepper, leather.
Palate- It’s very clean. No bumps in the road. Blueberries, blackberries lavender & toasty. Seamless in texture. Finishing off with nice floral notes. — 16 hours ago
17’ Quivira Alder Grove SB. Pale straw color(sitting in the glass all night) it’s much lighter. Medium bodied
The inviting aromas of peach, guava, orange blossom, key lime pie, followed by a palate full of juicy grapefruit & lively citrus flavors. Moderate/light acidity floats nicely on the back of the palate. Serve at cellar temperature!!! Not to cold.
Incredible value at $ 20 dollars a bottle. Cali version of a well made Bordeaux. Just love it! — 10 days ago
