First-rate QPR #cahors #malbec #merlot (70%/30%) blend. Nose considerably fruitier than the previous vintages I’ve found at #costco which were 100% Malbec. The merlot brings ripe bramble fruit on the nose followed by earthy undertones. Succulent acidity on the palate right up front, black berries following with some dark chocolate, forest floor, leather notes. Hearty tannins linger on the finish and build with each sip. QPR is way up there for under $9. — 5 months ago

Sleeper hit #valledecolchagua #malbec - No overt jamminess on nose instead subtle bramble fruit, earthy funk and interesting tar notes; well-balanced palate, soft lingering tannins. — 9 months ago
Yet another superb red blend from Nice Winery. 54% #cabernetsauvignon / 16% #merlot / 14% #malbec / 12% #petitverdot / 4% #cabernetfranc - it pays homage to all of the great varietals of Bordeaux. With a modest 13.8% ABV, it overflows with wafts of dark bramble fruit, leather, sous bois, lovely acidity, earth and lush California fruit in balance. Paired marvelously with grilled steak. — 2 years ago
Interesting #uruguay red blend from #canelones region. A few days after uncorking it’s evolved nicely. Substantial black/purple bramble fruit aromas up front followed by an understated earthy, leather character and some mushroom notes. Plump acidity on palate, less fruit and more coffee, licorice finished by rounded tannins. 70% #malbec 30% #marselan - interesting wine found from a friend at a South American grill restaurant. — 5 months ago
I’ve been on a QPR kick lately with this $11 Costco #valledeuco #malbec. Expected bramble fruit, leather notes on the nose but the fresh acidity, balance and restraint on the palate are much appreciated. — 2 years ago
