Classic Left Bank #medoc earthy faint bramble fruit nose; cigar, leather, tart frame and grippy tannins. — 5 years ago
Sure, it might be still a bit young, but close to it’s peak and delicious so why wait, it’s my birthday! Opened up faster than I would have expected for a 2012 Médoc, beautifully balanced cassis fruit, acidity and velvety, well-knit tannins. Elegant but still powerful, some sediment that was easily taken care with decanting. #saintjulien #médoc — 7 years ago
Bought at the airport in Paris. Earthy, barnyardy nose. Smooth #medoc, raspberry and cassis notes. Nice finish. Great with prime rib. — 9 years ago
Nice #medoc at Lago in Bellagio. Full bodied, complex. — 9 years ago
What an elegant wine. This #chateaubranecantenac had incredible complexity and balance. All the notes showed as a classic #grandcruclasse #bordeaux. The fruit was sweet, the structure was finessed, and the length was great. #medoc #margaux #cabernetsaugvinon #blend #ctbucklinwine — 10 years ago
Black cherry, black currant, licorice, tar, olive tapenade and pleasant orange peel aromas. Lovely #stjulien #wine blending power and elegance beautifully. #medoc #bordeaux #grandcruclassé #ducrubeaucaillou — 10 years ago
Elegant blackberry, purple fruit nose - started to open up nicely in decanter. Balanced on palate, more prominent dark fruit vs earth/leather notes tannins are starting to soften. This 2015 genteel #medoc is starting to hit it’s stride. — 3 years ago
Deep ruby almost purple hue with secondary influences of garnet. Blackberry, creme de cassis, molasses, anise, vanilla, baking spices, earth, mushrooms, leather, and tobacco notes; soft tannins, smooth on the palate; everything is in balance to deliver a deliciously elegant complement to the meal. ABV 13%. Vintage 2005. #lesfortsdelatour #lesfortsdelatour2005 #pauillac #pauillacdelatour #medoc #medocwines #frenchieattitude #winedown2019 — 6 years ago

Vintage 2012 / a favorite and reliable wine for Sunday lunch with rumpsteak, mushrooms and chicory from the oven. Some development in colour, a mix in smell of cherries and plums, vanilla. Still tannic in taste but not disturbing after aeration. This #poujeaux delivers, it is #moulis reliability. Fine wine from a year one need not to put away a decade before enjoying it. #medoc 48% cabernet sauvignon 43% merlot 6% petit verdot 3% cabernet franc — 8 years ago
#medoc #crubourgeois I'm thoroughly enjoying this. Aromas of ripe plums, dried cherries, sage and potpourri. Tertiary aromas cigars, tobacco leaf and smoked meats. On the palate there's still plenty of fruit, with a lovely texture that reminds me of plum skins. Medium+ finish. Holding on very well. — 9 years ago
Beautiful light ruby color fading towards the rim. Med + complexity and intensity on the nose with wound up but dry black fruit with little sweetness. Bordeaux characteristics.
Palate was smooth and a touch watery with a med finish. The structure was very strong with firm tannins and acid. The wine was still compact and I got the feeling that it's going through an awkward stage and needs some more time. #chateaulafite #bordeaux #medoc #pauillac #1961 #ctbucklinwine — 10 years ago
Firm tannins and slightly insipid. Lacking excitement. #saintjulien #bordeaux #leftbank #medoc — 10 years ago

2005. Portobello, loamy soil, blackberry, black cherry, violets, oyster shell, black peppercorn, grilled beef on the nose. Black and red currant, slight grapiness, cedar bark, pencil, black olive, wheat toast, fine tabac, clove, red cherry. Pointy in places, but really holding together in terms of age.

Simple but sill holding together well with fresh fruit and a soft structure. #chateaupotensac #medoc #leftbank #bordeaux #ctbucklinwine — 9 years ago
2008 Chateau Gloria from Medoc on the Left Bank. Blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petit Verdot. Very nice deep purple/garnet in the glass. Black fruit and cassis, joined by layers of cedar, liquorice and tobacco on the palate. This is a rich, ripe full bodied wine with well integrated tannins that deliver a nice finish. Could easily last another 10 years. Nice bottle of Bordeaux for about $50. Sadly, I only had a single bottle.

This #gruaudlarose was showing incredibly well. It was delicate and elegant with silky tannins. The fruit was mature but sweet and balanced well with the green pepper, graphite and array of other notes. The complexity lingered on the palate showing great length. #saintjulien #medoc #bordeaux #ctbucklinwine — 10 years ago

Classic Bordeaux flavors, a good buy at $15 at Grocery Outlet. Went well with the grass fed New York steaks we paired it with. Good, but not great. #medoc — 2 months ago
