Beautiful light ruby color fading towards the rim. Med + complexity and intensity on the nose with wound up but dry black fruit with little sweetness. Bordeaux characteristics.
Palate was smooth and a touch watery with a med finish. The structure was very strong with firm tannins and acid. 2008 Chateau Gloria from Medoc on the Left Bank. Blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petit Verdot. Very nice deep purple/garnet in the glass. Black fruit and cassis, joined by layers of cedar, liquorice and tobacco on the palate. This is a rich, ripe full bodied wine with well integrated tannins that deliver a nice finish. Could easily last another 10 years. Nice bottle of Bordeaux for about $50. Sadly, I only had a single bottle.
