Coteaux Bourguignons 'Correaux' Vieilles Vignes 2015

It’s always the last bottle that seems to be the best. This is a gamay and Pinot Noir blend from a producer that makes incredible Burgundy like Chardonnay. Red fruits, acid medium plus, underbrush & wild berries on nose. With the age much tartness has been replaced by depth. Somehow has a stateliness about it- nothing rustic here. Just yum. — a month ago

Man. I love this producer. So elegant.

Nose is elegant creamy green apple.

Palate is like rainwater. Green apple. Green apple skin. What you want in Bourgogne blanc.

Bought from fass selections.

I’m sorry I’m advance. I have 1/5th of what I had in 2018 and it’s still largest allocation in the world. So some of you will get shafted.

The usual brilliance on the nose. This is the best BB in the world. Others come close I hear but this is really it for me. Superb florality on the nose. White flowers up the wazoo. Lemon pith, tree bark, superb minerality. Matchstick, flint, lime zest, crushed rocks, a hint of creaminess. And I mean a micro hint. But it’s still there. Huge expansive minerals. So so pretty. Yea that’s the ticket. Superb minerality, texture and more minerality. Superb iodine and salinity. While 18 was more fruity this is more mineral and structured. Just tremendous purity. Amazing balance and terrific delicate concentration. Sappy and mineral sweetness on the finish. And what a finish it is. How does this man make 9.5 BB’s? Just miraculous. Finish is 1er cru level but not as complex. Wow this is so fresh and the acid is wonderful. Just so compact and complete. Sick. Just sick.

Gorgeously red fruited nose. Cherries galore. Lovely hit of earth. Very pretty and smells silky. Palate is just terrific. Juicy, pure and super clean. Loads of sour and red cherries and a baby Pommard vibe here as it finishes very stoney. Lovely texture and a hint of rusticity. Just a great humble very satisfying wine. Long and juicy. — 6 days ago

Big ass Bourgogne that carries a big price tag. The more air time it gets the wine really opens up. Lots of fresh earth, ripe cherry, shaved orange rind, fresh herbs. Fortunate to have a giant bone in ribeye to enjoy. — 5 days ago

This is an excellent Bourgogne Blanc. Light, fresh and crisp. No oak. Nice mouthfeel. Fairly long finish. — 3 hours ago

Balanced and very gulpable. A noticeable step down in elegance and fruit quality from the CdN bottling though, in my experience — 7 days ago

Mme Tremblay does some of the best and finest Burgundy wines these days. This one was no exception. Cherries, asian spices, mint, very fresh and balanced, no rush. Top stuff in a small vintage. — 4 days ago

More thoughts as it continues opens up.

Lemons, green apple, lime candy/zest, grapefruit w/pith, touch of guava, kiwi, white peach, honeysuckle, vanillin, touch of caramel, saline, sea fossils, grey volcanics, soft chalkiness, spring flowers, excellent acidity & rich polished finish.

Preposterous. Only word for this wine. Stunning nose. Pungent red and black fruits, lovely dusting of earth, floral, lipstick like intensity, so sappy and so pure. Wow what a nose. Just so so expansive. Really detailed, clear and pure. Really is a step up over the 18. Wow what a palate. Froooooooot! I am Froot. I am Froot. I am Froot. Anyway. Gorgeous, clearly defined red cherry fruit with a dash of blackberry and so so pure. Gorgeous earthy minerality. But the purity, decadence and also gamey (Gevrey?) quality of the fruit really are compelling. Wow, inner mouth florals and aromas. Beautiful, elegant and taught structure as well. So so pretty. Sappy, long and dissipating finish. This is an unreal wine. I can’t figure out if it’s a 9.3 or 9.4. The day will decide. Onward! I am Froot!

Palate is getting rounded and this has the elite fruit of Pierre’s higher end wines but doesn’t have the complexity or length. But man that froot and texture.

After 4 hours this has gotten silkier, sweeter and sexier. 9.3 to 9.4. Insane acids. Huge minerals. It dances in the palate.
