Coteaux Bourguignons, Burgundy

Denis (Isabelle et Denis) Pommier

Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2015

The soft texture of this wine is remarkable. Like plush velvet. Soft acids too. Nose has oozing cherry, wet limestone minerality, and some baking spice. Mouthfilling but with a contrasting lightness that is remarkable. Maybe the heat and low acids of 15 actually helped this wine. Will please both neophytes and more sophisticated palates. Don’t wait though, drink now. — 7 days ago

Yeah, that is a crazy bottle!

Clos De La Roilette

Cuvée Christal Fleurie Gamay 2018

Delectable Wine
9.2

This textbook Beaujolais displays raspberry, cherry and floral pastille character while dusty mineral and baking spice nuances lend complexity and lift. Juicy, balanced and finely detailed, the 2018 provides immense pleasure now but will only get more interesting over the next few years. $20.00 (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, November 2019) — 3 days ago

Bourgogne Blanc Chardonnay 2014

Saturday lunch at home with friends. All tasters very impressed with this Village Bourgogne from the 2014 vintage which was excellent for whites. Great intensity and tension for a village wine. Good minerality. No time for detailed notes. Went well with fresh Tasmanian oysters. — 5 days ago

Domaine des Terres Dorées (Jean-Paul Brun)

Charme Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs Crémant de Bourgogne Chardonnay 2016

This has a richness and austerity rare in the under $30 world. It’s complete, elegant, and sophisticated. Green and yellow apples, Asian pear, lemon, and misty yeast backdrop. — 10 days ago

Mes Gamays Coteaux Bourguignons Gamay 2017

All pleasure here! Great structure, solid fruit, and nimble on the palate... starting to go up in price though. — a month ago

Benjamin Leroux

Bourgogne Chardonnay 2016

I could drink this wine every night. Not too simple, not too complex. Notes of vanilla, baked red apples, fluffy lemon curd, and the right amount of minerality. Served with fresh bay scallops, sautéed spinach, and a tomato Beurre Blanc. Benjamin Leroux is the man! — 7 days ago

Solid producer.

Domaine Roulot

Bourgogne Aligoté 2014

Roulot’s Aligote is always one of the great white Burgundy values as it delivers so much for its price. Lots of lemon lime, citrus, mineral, saline with refreshing & racy acids. — 12 days ago
