Such an underrated vintage both red and white. Raveneau‘s 2013 Valmur is electric from the first pour wafting killer yellow fruit intensity, white chocolate, white flowers, notions of sea breeze and a little botrytis influenced saffron. The palate is deep, waxy and rich with balanced zippy citrusy acids and a crushed oyster shell minerality that gives way to a considerably long, focused and lifted finish. Fantastic bottle.

May 7th, 2022Wow. This has a crazy nose. Pretty tropical for Raveneau: peach, lychee, hints of melon. There’s the classic undertow of limestone but the expansive flavors are what hits you. Pretty forward but still has a lot to give. Very pure and exciting. As time goes by in glass there’s more salinity coming through. A great wine. Slightly atypical.
