I am always amazed at how good these old martini wines can be. This wasn’t just good for its age, it was just good.
Great color/still sweet on the mouth/nice finish.
The vast majority of these old wines from them that I’ve had have been at worst good with several like this one being very impressive

Interesting wine. I don’t know that I would say it was great, but it was interesting.. I blind tasted this on a group of other wine makers, and nobody got anything close.

My first shot with his producer and I really enjoyed it. Nice combination of dark fruit and a bit of the Aussie plushness. Went very well with my Carnitas sandwich. At $100 a bottle it’s a stretch but nice wine regardless. Will hold my other 2 for a while — 5 years ago

@Jeff Ames : Though not easy to acquire, when buying direct, this comes out to around $50/bottle. Banging deal at that price. His single vineyard offerings are truly outstanding. @Fraser McKinley is a stand up guy!

Pretty remarkable. I’ve never been able to try an old one of these before, but I’ve always understood. They aged like champs and this thing was crazy. It tasted and looked like it could’ve been bottled last week. If you have any that have been well stored there’s absolutely no rush. — a day ago

Truchard vineyard, not regular merlot.
All things considered fairly solid. Definitely on the backside of its life and didn’t really hold up super long but for the first maybe 45 minutes of being opened was fairly nice. Better on the pallet than aromatics

Really interesting wine. Very kind of sherry/Madeira when we first opened it, but maybe an hour later that blew off and became much more clean.
It wasn’t amazing, but for that kind of age, it was definitely good

Very interesting wine.. I don’t know if I was blinded on this if I would ever pick those Washington except for maybe a tiny bit on the back end.
Great color and I actually really enjoy the aromatics on it.
The pallet to me is very interesting. It almost tastes like if you put free run juice into a tank and then let it settle in tank for a couple days and then just bottle that..

Jeff,
I enjoy your wines but this App is getting worse by the month. I can’t believe Antonio has his name attached to this and lets it continue to be outdated by year’s. No updates in 5-6 years.

I gave this a whole five days after getting it in the mail. Impressively rich and scary easy to drink. Might be my favorite drinking Marcassin Estate in a while. If you are hard-core white burgundy person maybe not for you but I thought it was delicious — 4 years ago
