Intriguing #shiraz coming in at 22 years of bottle age. Cork was crumbly but intact, minimal soak. Definite bricking on edges, dark burgundy in the glass. Day after uncorking it’s really awakened; prominent briny green olive aromas overlain with black olive, charcuterie notes, pruny fruit aromas in the background. Still some lively acidity on palate, prune raisin notes without a sense of the wine being tired, salted caramel, toffee towards the end and tannins vanishingly faint on finish. #fleurieu — 9 months ago

Positively delicious 8 year old #westernaustralia #shiraz. Unlike many Oz Shiraz, legitimate varietal aromas of smoked meat, black olive, black/purple fruit, leather. Gratifying acidity on palate balances out rich dark fruit, finishing with coffee notes, a touch of black pepper and fine tannins. Excellent wine. — a year ago

Been awhile since I’ve had this big boy. Juicy-jammy, but reined in. Big blackberry was expected, and echoed on the palate, but dried blackberry, oregano, dried black currant, tobacco, Turkish coffee, dark chocolate and vanilla, make it decadent. Violets, smoke, allspice and leather keep it honest. Pleasantly satisfying and a welcome diversion. .

2010 Magnum doing just fine! Says Shiraz, so not a blend per se. Big mushroom nose of porcini and cooked chanterelle. Blackberry, smoke and black pepper with espresso grind and cocoa powder. Intense extraction with leather, blackberry, black plum, prune, black olive, charred beef, dried violets;chewy, deep, earthy, lovely. Incredible musculature.
