Deep ruby red. Rich nose with layers of cassis, black fruits, anise and black cranberries. Medium plus tannins (7.5/10) and medium plus bodied. Lots of grittiness and gravel on the palate with some black cherries and black fruits. Dry and long finish. Drink till 2030.
Made up of 92% Cabernet Franc and 8% Cabernet Sauvignon. Aged for 19 months in 85% new French oak. Only 285 cases produced. — a month ago

First stop in Napa is to the Elyse Winery, which was recently purchased by Josh Peeples and Cheryl Foil of Standard Deviation and Addax Wines. This vintage of Rosé was just bottled yesterday. Pale salmon pink. Fresh and clean on the nose with some strawberries, white flowers and melon. Medium plus acidity (6.5/10) and light bodied. A little tight but clean on the palate with some chalk, melon, kiwi, strawberries and minerality. Medium length finish. Drink till 2021. — a month ago
Deep purplish red. Much smoother than the Our Gangs bottling. Floral and dark nose coated with black cassis, tons of baking spices, lilacs and a bit woody. Dark purplish red. Dark and rich on the nose, can easily smell inches away from the glass. Aromas of anise, vanilla, oak and black fruits. Heavy tannins (8/10) and full bodied. Insanely rich on the palate, the flavors completely coats your mouth. Layers of cassis, plums and dark cocoa. Long and lingering finish. Drink till 2042.
