Aldo Vaira took control of the family vineyards in 1968, when he was just 15 years old. Today, G.D. Vajra consists of 150 acres, mostly around the commune of Barolo.
Ruby with a rich bouquet of fruit, spices and floral notes, fruit from several vineyards, aged 26 months in Slavonian oak casks. On the palate flavors of cherry and raspberry with notes of pepper, cinnamon and floral, slight earthy notes. Long finish, nice balance with fine soft tannins ending with earthy floral notes. Enjoyable now, a few more years will benefit. — a month ago
Hard to describe though my first impression was of dusty flowers. Still vibrant with a decent finish. — 18 days ago
Parking Lot - Trader Joe’s 30$ Barolo. 14.5%. Tasted on the spot! With the mini snack cups from T.G. Brownish tinge, tealeaves and quite tart. Lacks classic Barolo flavors - will pass up on this one. Sad 😞 - Great vintage how can anyone screw this up? Might this needs hours of air and or a proper glass? Will add to these notes - in 3 hours. May be i am wrong? — 8 days ago

Youthful that will benefit with air, drinking beautifully with its bright red cherry, berry fruit, dried herbs, leather, savory spice, rose petal & tobacco notes — 6 days ago
