This is a perfect expression of Sangiovese.
The nose is of ripe fruit, black currents, light spice and a touch of juniper.
Soft on the palate, fruit forward after 20 minutes decanted.
Enjoyed with farfalle pasta with long simmering red meat sauce with capers & black olives. The 2016 vintage is mature and ready to drink! — 8 months ago
Wow! Soft, structured and delicious. — a year ago
Soft, ripe fruit on the nose and palate. Plummy, prunes, & spice atop a layer of soft tannins. Ready to drink but it seems it could remain a keeper for another 4-5 years. — 2 months ago
On the nose, the 2001 seemed promising after being decanted for 45 minutes- floral, dark cherry, cedar, light old leather, a touch of glycerin- but disappointing on the palate. I found it linear and tannic. It never really opened fully with layered complexity. It is fully mature but was not my favorite. — 7 months ago
Full bodied, dense, deep ruby Bordeaux. On the nose: dark mulberry fruit, cedar, & a touch of eucalyptus/camphor. On the palate: dark fruit, cedar and light tannins. After 40 minutes decanted the tannins recede and the soft fruit is delicious. This wine is fully mature and a terrific offering from Medoc. If you have it or can get it, drink now and enjoy! — a year ago
Peppery spice on the palate with classic fruit forward oaked Grenach. Short abrupt finish but quite good as a house wine. — 3 months ago
Well structured Sangiovese, fruit forward with initial strong tannins. After 35 minutes decanted, both on the nose and palate, there is a beautiful blueberry, spice & floral experience. The tannins are soft and the wine fills the mouth with delight!
It may evolve a bit more but is ready now.

Deep garnet, full bodied offering with currant & plummy fruit on the nose. Decanted for 40 minutes revealing riper fruit forward with currants and dissipating tannins on the palate. This is a well structured wine that is still young and full but will be even better in 3-5 years. Loved it! — a year ago
Plum, blueberry, a touch of cedar/camphor and a very long smooth finish. This is a delicious offering in the 2004 vintage… fully mature and ready to enjoy… — a year ago

Decanted for 30 minutes and still fragmented with tannin forward on the palate with recessed soft raspberry fruit, barnyard pronounced, slow to open and not attractive. 45 minutes decanted, each instruments of the symphony is tuned and begins to harmonize!
Raspberry/blackberry fruit comes forward, tannins recede, and hints of cedar & leather piqued the palate. This is s fully mature Bordeaux with a delicious subtlety that takes time to emerge. Drink it now as it won’t last long in your cellar. — a month ago
