Fourth generation farmers producing organically made wine from steep terraces in a top-tier area. This single vineyard selection is only 5.5% alcohol! Breakfast wine? How about all day wine?
Light yellow with a major cat pee armpit vibe. Seriously, say tomato vine all you want, but that’s what I’m getting here. It’s funky. Good amount of fizz with sweet nectarine and peaches. — 3 years ago
Drank in August 2021. At 6 years old, excellent depth, deep ruby color and a finish that lingers well. Pared well with pasta and red meat. Nice nose and overall a very good Barbera. — 5 years ago

Pale lemon in color.
Strong nose and medium plus in body with high acidity, and light evanescence.
Sweet on the palate with lots of acidity to balance the sugars.
Showing tropical fruits, spices, citrus, mangoes, apricots, kiwifruit, pineapples, honey, yellow apples and minerals.
Long finish with pineapples and honeysuckle.
This is a very tasty sweet wine from Italy. Elegant and nicely balanced. Complex and interesting.
Good by itself as a dessert.
5% alcohol by volume.
91 points.

2021 vintage. QPR off the charts. $13.43 a bottle resto cost. Ridiculously good at that price. Medium body with spice, fruit and structure. Too inexpensive for me to exploit but perhaps someone else can? If I see this in the wild, pouncing on all fours. 04.09.25. — a year ago
Deep ruby in color; black cherries, dried herbs, and black pepper on the nose; intense acidity; medium tannins; tastes like sour cherries, blackberries, and spices with a long, slightly peppery finish — 3 years ago
Excellent, dry Barbera D' Asti Superiore. 2017 vintage. Had at a restaurant in Austin, great "find". Again, Superiore (pronounced "Super- roar-e", this is not Spanish). Big and fairly bold for a Barbera, aromatic and flavorful purple dark berry soft smooth palate balanced balanced light tannins. Didn't taste all those weird things some peeps did...maybe more later if wine can be found for a next time ...will buy again when at Osteria 68 Degrees. — 5 years ago
Lot of brett, lot of acids, lot of flavor, lot of body, somehow all in balance. — 7 years ago
Pale lemon color with aromas of ripe stone and tropical fruits and floral notes wrapped in a frizzante style. On the palate flavors of peach, apricot and mango with notes of white floral. Good balance with lively yet refrained acidity, medium+ finish ending with sweet ripe fruit character. — 9 months ago
Clear, pale ruby in color. On the nose, it has medium intensity primary and secondary aromas of hibiscus, cloves, and raspberries. On the palate, it's dry with high acidity, medium tannins, medium alcohol, medium body, and medium intensity flavors of tart cherries, lavender, and dried herbs with a long finish. This wine is complex with balanced fruit, acidity, and tannins. Overall, I rate this wine as very good. — a year ago
Still young but drinking beautifully. Very long, some purple fruit in the finish. — 5 years ago
It is Thursday night and tonight the wine I have opened is the 2016 La Spinetta Ca' Di Pian Barbera d' Asti.
On the nose is black cherry, plum, strawberry, incense, violets, anise and earth.
On the palate there is cherry, strawberry, plum, anise, dried leaves, baking spices and wet earth.
This wine is medium to full bodied fresh clean in the mouth with medium + acidity and medium to medium+ fine mouth filling grippy tannins tha gives into a long fresh fruit earthy finish. I hope everyone's week has been a good one and let's look to the weekend to refresh. Please stay safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 5 years ago
Barbera as it should be. Generous, rustic, intense, honest. It's a wine that looks at you in the eye, speaks of rolling hills, countryside, farm animals and good values. Beautiful nose and excellent length. The great work in the vineyard shows glorious in the glass. Enjoy with no limits ! — 7 years ago
Best moscato in creation. Sweet, but not too sweet, floral, like liquid flowers. — 7 years ago

2024. Another sentimental pickup at the store tonight. My wife and I used to get the 375 mL bottles of Nivole at a local liquor/wine store in Lincoln in the early 1990’s and that store just announced they were closing after 63 years. 😢 — 22 days ago
