Tre Vigne Barbera d'Asti
Lots of fruit, a bit simple, a bit less body and structure than the Barbera d’Alba. Also a bit flabby - probably picked a tad over-ripe, as some of the flavors border on jammy or stewed. Like jammy raspberry. Still enjoyable though. The second day, the wine was more expressive but had also started to oxidize. So overall acceptable, but I’ll take the Nebbiolo over this any day.

Medium bodied with crisp acidity. Solid complexity. Dry tannins. May have slightly passed its peak but still well balanced and tense.

Feb 1st, 2021Barbera taken seriously by an awesome producer. Earthy - mushrooms and fennel - on the nose with raspberries peeking through. On the pallet tart cherry, menthol and smooth tannins with a finish of tar, vanilla and raspberries
