Dark intense purple color. On the nose a meaty, plummy, gnarly beast. Intense savory notes with dried herbs, a hint of cornas in character style, and feral blue stuff. Astonishing depth and purity of fruit at the front given its age. I’ve never had a barbera of this intensity and style before. Scents of rose petals and bramble on open. Red plum, cigar box, spice. Silky smooth with medium tannins and a bit of tar on the finish. Really nice after being open a few hours and will age well. — 12 days ago

Very nice barbera! Punches quite above its weight - would love to try the Barolo or barbaresco. Quite classic and old school with lots of earth and rusticity but still accessible now with a decent amount of air and a slight chill. — 3 days ago

I love a good Barbera and this is that. Great depth and nuance, the 2010 Roagna is a sophisticated wine that is intensely food friendly. Dark cherry, tar, mint and licorice combine.
