Dynamite. Cork broke, but not to worry. The wine is so good. Deep, expressive fruit and bitter leaves. Earthy. Improving considerably as it breathes. And the bottle weighs 37 pounds.

WOTN at a Tuscan tasting last Thursday, though not my vote. Really nice and unique expression of Sangiovese (100%). Bright red cherries, a little oaky bitterness, mint and some light herbs. But mostly the cherries. No chocolate, no cola. Very light and fruity. Most unique is the unmistakeable taste of orange soda on the finish. Very good!

Beautifully made blend of 80% Merlot, 15% Cab Franc, and 5% Malbec. Complex nose consisting of dark fruit, toasted nuts, and wet leaves. No florals.
Boisenberry and blueberry, earth, graphite, olives, leading to polished tannins on the finish. Very good now, will be perfected in 5 years.

Poppy! Simple and straightforward. Bright cherries, a little spice, a little floral. Too much of a caramel sweetness. Even at this price you can do better. Easy drinker, though.

Soft, with plum and florals. No tannic structure whatsoever. Sipping this wine as I prepare steaks. I don't think it will keep up with the fat, so I'll be switching back to the Saint Emy I just posted.
