Barefoot Cellars

California Cabernet Sauvignon 2026

Ah, the Barefoot Cabernet Sauvignon. Iconic. So iconic, in fact, that Delectable struggled to identify it. Surely not an everyday wine, but reserved for the most special occasions.
Upon opening I am smitten. The vintage is not listed on the label, sadly, but I can tell this has been impeccably cellared.
I am met with fruity and floral notes on the nose. It seems young!
Flavors of dark berries, vanilla, and spice. There is an oak influence here- is it French? Is it American?
The tannins are all but resolved, and the finish is smooth and fine. I'd put this up against anything from Napa, and it would be up there against it. Sitting right there on the counter up against it.
It's hard to find the right words, but suffice to say this wine is unforgettable. It's breathtaking. It's as good, if not better than, the Barefoot Oreo flavored wine.
Drink up! I estimate the 2026 is at its peak.

My drummer brought this to practice. It's good, full blackberry and plum flavors with a little spice.

Sounds tasty. I used to drink Decoy wines all the time when I first got into wine. Maybe I should try some again.

I've had several bottles, usually when I'm on vacation and it's the best thing at the store 😊 But it's usually tasty. @Joel Lara

Heavy duty and wooly bully tannins. Bit of a metallic taste that isn't great.

I have no problem with cheap Chianti. This has a bunch of leather on the nose that settles down over time. Mouth puckering cherries and plenty of acidity. Not one to sip on its own, but compliments pasta and sausage.

This didn't really work for me. The oak influence gave it a very bitter wooden taste. Maybe it's for people that like that.

This is Over The Vines House White, 2025.
I officiated a wedding at a winery today, and had a taste of their wares. Nobody on staff could tell me what grapes were used, nor could the internet. It tastes green, like Soave. That's all I got.

A strange situation when a winery that's presenting the wine(s) haven't the slightest knowledge of what varietals are in the makeup!

Had this last night on a date with my wife at a hip place. It's a different expression of Pinot Noir, and granted I haven't had many PN's from Italy. Very tart, with cranberry juice at the forefront. A little oakiness, but not overwhelming. Had it with various tapas. Made for an enjoyable evening.

I find this to be an easy drinker and a good value. Fruit salad- plenty of peach, pineapple, apricots, lemon, and some grass. A hint of tar in the nose.
