Cool, fresh, with great depth. Cool, dark fruit, a herby edge, a whiff of tree bark. So enticing.
Cool & fresh on the palate, amazing flow! Perfectly polished & integrated, fine tannins, juicy acidity, black cherry & dark plum, a hint of Mandarine peel freshness, a herby edge. Amazing flow! So juicy, so fresh, so clean.

Medium plus body. Nice balanced tone of cherries, oak, and tannins. Goes well with Italian food, or with steak, or alone. $28 bottle; will need to stock up — 5 years ago
Lots of forward fruit, red currant and blackberry. Subtle mid palate. Just a nip of tannins on the finish. Overall smooth and easy drinking. — 6 years ago
2009. Fresh from my COMA (can’t opine much anymore), I am greeted by the opulence of sauce Périgueux over smoked applewood bacon wrapped top sirloin. Four black truffles gave themselves to the dicing knives to achieve the feat. Purple Black and cloaked in sooty tar. Rings of pipe tobacco brooding. An olfactory, fungal, tor impudicus waving its spongey menace. Candied currants, bursting blackberry, dessicate plum, and dark earth beneath the litter of the fall. Braised offal. Coffee rye. Tart and black cherry punctuate the entry of swift and silken shadow overwhelming palate. One’s heart is black but this is blacker. Baked blackberry jus.

Good Lord. This is such special stuff. Still lots of time - a decade perhaps. Endlessly fascinating, decadent mouthfeel. — 4 years ago
2023 vintage. Medium body. Super nova brightness of fruit exploding forth. Some mineral qualities. Judicious and caring unctuous/oily accents. If you can find this retail, should run in the low $20’s. Resto cost $14.43. Good lord. This is ridiculous. 03.12.25. — a year ago

This is the best bottle of wine I’ve had from my cellar in years. Nearly perfect. Bought it in 2008 for $30 and one of my great finds. Good lord it was just divine. I’m sure there have been better vintages but I can’t imagine it. — a month ago
