Niepoort (Vinhos) S.A.

Charme Douro Red Blend

2015 is silky smooth, the Burgundy of the Douro. Plush red fruits, good acid balance, and a long finish. Highly recommended as a Douro / Niepoort reference for elegance. — 8 days ago

Casa Ferreirinha (Sogrape Vinhos)

Papa Figos Douro Red Blend 2017

Bought the 2017 whilst on holiday in the algarve at Lidl. Really enjoyed it and if it was available at this price in the UK would certainly buy lots more. Great with a carbonara and cheese plate. — 14 days ago

Bottled in 2018.
Have to say that Kopke always delivers. Constant quality. Figues, warmth, raisins.

Quinta da Manoella Vinhas Velhas Douro Red Blend 2009

Vinho com parcela de uvas centenárias. Uma hora e meia de decanter revela os aromas do vinho. Muito corpo, denso. Final longo e persistente. Excelente vinho. Entrou nos meus favoritos. — 10 days ago

Late Bottled Vintage Porto Port Blend 2013

Dark ruby in color with a short reddish rim.

Sweet nose of blackcurrants, blackberries, oak, cooked cherries, plums, vanilla, licorice, leather, light chocolates, earth, mocha, pencil lead, light vegetables and black pepper.

Full bodied and bold with high acidity and long legs.

Sweet on the palate with blackberries, plums, cherry pie, dried figs, tobacco, spices, wood, vanilla, cloves, dark coffee, chocolates, alcohol, mocha, caramel, spices and peppercorn.

Long finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries.

This vintage Port is young and so enjoyable already. Well balanced and sweet with lots of acidity to balance the sugars out. Good by itself as a desert.

Big and still showing some alcohol, on the palate, and earth notes on the nose, which will go away with time.

Wine Enthusiasts 89 points.

Will be better in the next 10 to 20 years, unfortunately I do not have the patience to wait. 😃

This 6 year old is Interesting, complex and delicious.

20% alcohol by volume.

95 points.

Late Bottled Vintage Porto Port Blend 2009

Because everyone should drink port before noon on a Sunday, that's why. And a nice one this is. Pleasant thick dark fruit up front, Sweet Mother Alcohol coming through to remind you you're about to be on the impaired side of the equation. A good lingering of dark fruit finishes things off well. — 3 days ago
