Blackberry, floral, black cherry, so deep and almost Syrah like nose. Syrah/Pinot hybrid. Elegant, sappy and pure. Classic Girard balance. Smooth even though I hate this word. So fresh with ripe tannins but provide terrific structure and depth. — 3 months ago
The aroma from this wine fills the room! However, as delicious and complex as the flavors are, in total it feels subtle and subdued; a couple years past prime. A beautiful acidity remains present from front to back, and makes the wine exceptionally food friendly — 4 months ago
Great summer red. Balanced, medium body, easy to drink. — 6 months ago
One of top sites in the village of Pernand-Vergelesses, lies just below Île, lower on the slope with more clay and iron, planted in 1954. Straw yellow color with rich stone fruits, floral and toasty notes. On the palate flavors of apple and ripe pear with citrus, biscuit notes and gentle spice, great mouthfeel. Long finish ending with fruit, vanilla, toasty biscuit and a mineral tang. Nice! — 2 months ago

My favorite Pernand 1er Cru. Classic nose of dark cherry fruit, brambly berry fruit, wild mint, spearmint, desiccated leaves, sous bois and citrus rind. Very complex and pure. So Fichots. Grippy, gritty, silky and dense with dark cherry fruit and forest floor inner mouth aromas and silky but substantial tannins. Needs air. Wonderful. As this airs the tannins smooth out and the energy increases as does the length.
