Wow. 13. This is very 13. Nose is fresh dark just picked blackberries. Palate is Big spicy blackberry fruit. Fresh so not the stewy kind of blackberry. Internal aromatics are terrific. Graphite. Licorice. Blackberry liquor. A hint of chocolate. So dense it’s almost a solid. Finish is fresh sweet licorice. Very delicious. Density wise very st Joseph (the good stuff like gripa). Amazing this wine is so balanced and Fresh given the year and the density. Very talented winemaker. Bought from fass selections. — 3 days ago
@delectable Gut&edel. Grape is gutedel (it’s a joke). Sometimes among the most austere grapes I’ve had. This is like a slightly fruity Chablis. Good minerality and acidity. Somewhere between interesting and delicious. A great change of pace. Bought from fass selections. — 6 days ago
So this is totally not the kind of wine i normally drink. Super Tuscan but from Montalcino. Big big blackberry fruits. Spice. Some richness. Blackberry candy a bit in the nose but in a good way. As it opens that turns to sick awesome licorice Palate soaking from the fruit. Like a basket of concentrated blackberries exploded in your mouth. Gorgeous nuclear spice all over. Delicious but not exactly elegant. But it’s insanely juicy and fresh despite the 7 years and density. Color is black as night. I’d take this over almost every blingy bolgheri I’ve had at 2-4 times the price. Maybe all of them. Think about it. A super Tuscan from the sexiest terroir in Tuscany.
This is 7 years old and has some sediment. A careful decant is strongly recommended.
This needs 60-90 minutes to optimize.

Whoa. Some genius mad freak mutant wine. Nose is apricots. Palate is perfect peach and mineral. Huge acids. Long fresh juicy finish. Palate soaking. Terrific juiciness and tartness. Fresh as a daisy after 9 years. 9 years. Wow. Bought from fass selections. ... wow insane density. — 7 days ago
Wow. So much for the Lombard can’t be drunk for 10 years thing. Mos def will improve over time but you can see the brilliance today. Earthy nose. Some mushroom. Palate is really an elegant version of POmmard. You have the blackberry fruit for sure. And some licorice. But they are balanced and it has nice acidity. The blackberries are more picked off the vine in the wild kind then the dense knock your head off kind. This wine has upside from this score as it ages. High floor given the balance and structure. Bought from fass selections. .... as this opens some spice. ... as this opens nose is getting some dark lilacs. Palate density is more apparent. Still elegant. Internal aromatics are this dense penetrating spicy live blackberry thing. Like inhaling a blackberry bush in the forest. Finish is a bit tight but has a kiss of chocolate. Wow. ... after 3 hours stunning freshness. — 5 days ago
