This wine is fucking amazing. And yes it deserves an F-BOMB! 💣 gorgeous nose of grapey, bright and intense fruit. Gorgeous refined spice. Dark fruits. Wild flowers. Berry, black cherry. Dark plums. Superb spice and earth. Gorgeously mineral and mashed dark flowers. Wow. What inner mouth aromas. Juicy and so so refined. Super clean and super spicey. Complex and concentrated. So so pure. Fresh. Vibrant. This is so balanced. What a wine. One of the most refined wines I’ve ever had from the Savoie. Technically Isere. Incredible inner mouth perfume and ripe, gorgeous tannins. Amazing palate presence and so so well made. 9.3 for now but 9.4 potential. Slamming.

As it airs out the texture gets sleek and refined. This is unreal. Incredible concentration and so perfect.

Typical fleshy wine of the appellation. Fruity notes of blackberries, cassis, black plum, chocolate, eucalyptus. Well-melted woody vanilla tertiary notes. Full-bodied and generous wine with a lingering finish on vigorous round tannins. To drink with chocolate desserts, spicy cuisine, duck southwest style. For fans of tannic wines, this is to be discovered as a matter of urgency, as it is much more accessible than Bordeaux wines. price / pleasure ratio ++

Vin charnu typique de l’appellation. Notes fruités de mûres , cassis, prune noire, chocolat, eucalyptus. Notes tertiaires boisées vanillées bien fondues. Vin ample et généreux avec une finale m persistante sur des tanins vigoureux de rondeur. À boire sur des desserts chocolatés, cuisine épicée, canard façon sud- ouest. Pour les adeptes des vins tanniques c’est à découvrir de toute urgence, car bien plus accessibles que les vins du Bordelais. rapport prix/plaisir ++

Quite intriguing, not a style of winemaking I reach for often, but an example of it done well. Minimal extraction and no SO2 with the allure and charm this has can be quite difficult. It’s a little skanky upon first opening, but after a night in the bottle it cleaned up considerably, the brett and VA melted into the wine a little more and its muddled melange of red fruit and earth became apparent. Crushed rainer cherry, decaying strawberries, rhubarb compote, white pepper, sweaty brett. I like blurring the lines between light red and rosé, and the wine worked well with roast chicken w/ spices and poblano mashers night one and fared well with tomato/avocado salad and grilled sardines the next night. Stands up to its naming “sucettes” which means lollipop in French. If you mixed cherries, raspberries, a tiny bit of spice into a lollipop, this is what you would get. A nice glou glou red for a hot summer evening. Will be back for more! My favorite pinot d’aunis to date. — 7 days ago

Madiran Tannat Blend 2016

2nd bottle and still so much pleasure. The well-worked Tannat grape brings notes of black plums; a mineral touch reminiscent of carbon or chemical smoke (not unpleasant), completed with a gourmet chocolate side, and notes reminiscent of pine or cedar sap or eucalyptus. The palate is supple and round with a lot of volume. The wine can still age for several years if we judge by the aromatic density. The tertiary woody touches are well melted, this is a good beefy and greedy bottle which will go as well with a chocolate desert as with a duck breast. Sweet and sour cooking will also go very well.

2eme bouteille et toujours autant de plaisir. Le cépage Tannat délivre des notes originales de prunes noires; une touche minérale rappelant le carbone, la fumée chimique (pas désagréable), complété d’un côté chocolaté gourmand, et des notes évoquant la sève de pin ou cèdre ou l’eucalyptus. La bouche est souple et ronde avec beaucoup de volume. Le vin pourra encore vieillir plusieurs années si on en juge par la densité aromatique. Les touches tertiaires boisées sont bien fondues. Un vin costaud et gourmand, qui ira aussi bien sur un désert chocolaté qu’un magret de canard. la cuisine sucrée/salée ou aigre doux ira très bien également.

Côte Fruité Malbec 2017

Expression of Malbec "on the fruit" Glu-glu wine. Friendly and approachable. All the characteristics of the grape varieties are expressed here without artifice with a nice know-how. A sort of Beaujolais in darker and more condensed! "Nature" spirit attested by a light sparkling mouth when opening, testifying to a very low sulphite intake. To drink with simple meals, charcuterie boards / mezze cheese, antipasti. Treat!

L’expression parfaite du Malbec « on the fruit » gourmand. Amical et accessible; Toutes les caractéristiques du cépages sont ici exprimées sans artifice avec un beau savoir faire. Une sorte de Beaujolais en plus noir et plus condensé! Esprit « nature » attesté par une bouche perlante à l’ouverture, témoignant d’un apport très réduit en sulphite. A boire avec des repas simples, planches de charcuterie/fromage mezze, antipastis.

La Folle Noire d'Ambat Fronton Negrette 2018

There is an irony thing in the nose along with violet and rose petals and cherry and a bit of black pepper. This is the nose I fell in love with 10 years ago. The palate is very well designed with a strong acid backbone, a very nice round and radiating fruit, a bit of a sweet touch, some nice oily, scratchy tannins which kick things up for a rather long finish with that fruit, pepper and a long lasting floral aftertaste. So great. This is 7 Euro when you buy it from the winery directly and it's 15 kilometers from where I am right now 😍 — 10 days ago
