Not a bad effort by #jacuzzifamilyvineyards (Yes, the same family of bathroom whirlpool tub fame.) I get a bit of that earthy #nebbiolo fruit, robust, yet managed tannins and subtle oak. Really nice to experience it in a singular context, away from its sister wines of such pedigree and substance that they cause her to become an afterthought. Red cherry nose expands to red dye, portobello, morel and walnut shell. Dried rose petal and twisted violet petal open to soft pork and beef grilled sweetness, and loam. Lurking sensualities; dried cherries persist. A mix of cherries in varied stages of ripeness and raisination stitch themselves together in liquid satin and come so close to perfection, but there is a slight unraveling context on the finish that doesn’t disappoint, just asks for follow through. Probably comes around in time as the tannins are rustic and the wine from a stellar vintage.

Black cherry and violets commingle with red cherry lavender and raspberry in a clean, and enticing nose of fruit and flower. Blueberry, blackberry and cassis are extras, but this is not the fruit bomb the description conjures. There is something light, sunny and natural about the whole; wisps of sweet tobacco and vanilla blossom undulate on a forest and mushroom motif that feels springy, panoramic and breezy. The palate boasts dried cranberries, tangy raspberry and plump black cherry. Thyme a cinnamon dusting and the aforementioned tobacco, now a fine, smoky cigar. This one is gorgeous, and a testament to the estate. Ripe and juicy, but the oak is in check. Bravo! .

2013 hoists this producer stratospherically. Great wine with integrated tannins. Meaty nose of cured and sliced roast beef and black pepper; tinged brown-brick from its 10 year slumber; cigar wrap, and roulade, graphite and smoke, and just barely, dried, black mushroom and rose petal. The palate is lush. Cherry soft, raspberry reduction, shows round but pronounced tannic dunes. Our tar is integrated, chicory peeks forth, the pepper submerged in a perfect expression of varietal and vintage. Solid work Arpatin (winks at Mother Nature)!
