Love how the smooth fruitiness comes out with each sip — 2 years ago
Best Monday lunch shift I’ve ever worked. And they left me a sip too, so now I can confirm that the 2010 vintage is ready and willing. What a sublime experience this wine will offer you. Tongue tingling up to ten mins after that sip. Full, and absolutely gorgeous. — 4 years ago
Not sure a score is objective when it’s a birth year wine and you’re as bloody old as I am! Nonetheless, spectacular, remarkably fresh and pure. Luscious after 25 mins, rainbow of red berry and camphor, blackcurrant, subtle notes of tea and cassis, chocolate. Last sip was on the back of my palate for minutes. Old but good indeed! Aaron, you’re a Prince! — 5 months ago
Grabbed this Pinot Grigio to use in some braised chicken but had a little left over to sip and rate. Not much aroma outside the peach/pear and honey. Body is a little more full with a medium light acidity. Taste is a delicate pear, melon, and honey that quickly fades into a lingering sweetness on the tongue. Not bad and made a great dish. Would buy again. — 4 years ago
Wax was hard to get off. Essentially scrapped it off. Before cork even came out I could start smelling the wine. I thought it would be corked. Cork melted off even with an ah so. First sip just had a little bit of funk but overall very drinkable. Much like a French Bordeaux. Fruit is muted, dry. Dark fruit finish. Smell definitely is dry and has an older funk, herbal, medicinal - not in a negative way. Would have loved to seen how it would have done decanted but had no time. — 4 years ago
Ruby with complex fruit aromas, spice and oak. Blend of 89% Tempranillo & 11% Graciano, aged 48 months on American oak. On the palate flavors of jammy dark berry fruits with spice & smoky earthy notes on ripe full soft tannins. Long finish, nice mouthfeel, ending with fruit, oak, cigar box spice and mineral earthy tones, a joy to Sip this Fine Wine!! Tasting great, has more aging potential! — 2 years ago
Drank over about an hour. This was my first foray into Mencia but I can tell you I will be back! Red fruits on the nose with some crushed stone and white pepper. A sip is peppery with Medium/medium+ acidity and alcohol and a lingering finish with mouth coating tannins — 4 years ago
Ashly Ash
I live this! This is my favourite sip and socialise wine. Probably not for pairing with a meal more for dessert as it is lovely and sweet. Pairs nice with I icecream or cheesecake. — 4 months ago
