Lots of wood. Lots of minerality. Nice wine. — 2 months ago
Good wine in a garbage year. If this was my first time trying a Ratti Barolo I’d never try it again. I guessed dolcetto d’alba when I tried it blind. Take that in. — 2 months ago
Perfect with a Christmas Wellington. Fantastically aged, great wine. Success. — 3 months ago
A little too watery to be labelled as a “Big Red” but I’ll cut them some slack for it being the pandemic year and probably a bitch to pick when the country was on a lockdown. — 2 months ago
Pour one out for your first boss. This one is for you John. Taught me more than anyone ever did. Including this varietal. Beautiful white with character and texture. — 2 months ago
Waited a long long time to try my first gigondas… and I opened it by myself on a Tuesday… January 2nd too, lol. Turns out I jumped the gun. This thing has legs for days and could have waited another 5, minimum. Great value here. Tastes how you’d imagine cooked plum that’s been made into a jam without sugar would taste. It’s also quintessentially French in profile. It’s a great wine. — 3 months ago
Fresh cherry, bordering on sweet start, but balanced finish brings it back to the old world. I liked it for a simple sipping while I cook and get some work done. Also bittersweet for the memories this wine evokes. 🥀 miss you. — 2 months ago
After a few sips everything is palatable. — 2 months ago
It’s a beast in many ways, but it’s overpriced and overhyped. It tastes like a nice California Cabernet… and even that doesn’t cost this much. Great wine, won’t buy it again. — 2 months ago
