Viña Bosconia Reserva Rioja Tempranillo Blend 2004

Always love the wines from LdH and this is no exception. Very nice at just over 20 years of age. Definitely secondary, no need to wait longer. Opened for a few hours before service but no decant. Red berry fruit, nice seamlessness, great acid and a long finish. Perfect pairing with roast chickens on Thanksgiving part 2. — 3 months ago

Viña Tondonia Reserva Rioja Blanco Malvasia Viura 2012

The wine is subtle and elegant. The tannins are velvety, and the acidity rounds out the finish. The taste buds provide more of an experience than the nose. Dried plum, leather, tobacco, perhaps a softening vanilla. A few more herbs (?) finish, but I'm betting on clove. — 17 days ago

Love these wines. 2014 Reynard is showing beautifully after sufficient aeration, layered and complete, wafting cassis, campfire smoke, olive tapenade and violets. The palate is seamless, elegant and satiny with a liquid rock minerality, fine grained tannins and massive length. Viña Tondonia Gran Reserva Rioja Blanco Malvasia Viura 1981

Splash decanted directly before service; enjoyed over the course of a few hours out of red Solo cups. The 1981 Gran Reserva Blanco pours, a golden color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of Khalas dates, dried apricot, black lemon, almonds, toasted coconut and marshmallow. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and the texture is waxy. A cerebral wine and just lovely stuff. Well stored bottles have a long life yet left ahead. Drink now with patience and plenty of air and through 2051. — 4 months ago
