Clos de l'Ecotards Saumur Chenin Blanc 2015

Lovely acidity, endless finish, nutty citrusy balanced beauty. Not to be shared with a cheap date, but with a keeper. — 13 days ago

Les Grands Vergers Arbois Trousseau 2017

Cherry Nose. Maraschino cherry 🍒? Is slightly oxidized. Iron aftertaste. Sweet and rich but also quite tart. I wonder if it is really just 12.5%. Licorice, iron, blood orange 🍊, dark cherry and spice with a hint of bitter. The wine seems somewhat overdone. Tries to be a big wine but Trousseau might be the wrong grape for this exercise. Perhaps I lack the expertise as I have limited experience with old Trousseau’s and aging potential of these wines. Still available at the WineHouse in LA and Max Kogod. — 20 days ago

La Vialliere Côte-Rôtie Syrah 2015

Delicious, bramble fruit wave greets you up front but then you get that wet stone taste and a little bit of spice at the end; velvety tannins trail off for a while. Great #rhone #syrah wine but the 2015 bottle prices seem to be getting a little out of hand. This Syrah paired pretty well with a Lamb Souvlaki plate at a BYOB Greek restaurant - I have to say the wine outshone the kebabs, though. — 6 days ago

Chambolle-Musigny Pinot Noir

2005. Still so young! What an amazing vintage this is. So fragrant, underlying spicy oak. Great structure. Village Chambolle at its best. — 15 days ago

Le Clousot Arbois Trousseau 2017

Strong licorice on the nose and quite dark. The wine lacks depth and is less exciting than his other cuvée’s and also ~ 10$ less. Tart plums & cranberries with a hint of funk. Quite rustic with plenty of tannins. Just OK. — 20 days ago

La Vigne du Louis Arbois Trousseau 2017

12.5%. Very very good. Hint of brett - tart and closed. But boy is this complex. Earthy, Kashmir red pepper, perhaps even a hint of tomatoes 🍅. Orange bitters on the back palate. Like silk much better than many Burgs I had in the last six months. From Max Kogod and I will buy the last bottle and the other cuvée from this producer best Trousseau I had in a long time! — a month ago
