Light and tart at the outset. First notes are full of juice with pomegranate, green apple, and apricots. This lingers on into the finish with just a touch of smoke. Easy to enjoy. — 3 months ago
Light and flowery on the nose and an opening splash of oranges followed by medley of plum, anise, fig and apple. The finish is moderate in acidity with hint of smoke. — 4 months ago
This super Tuscan opens with a splash of orange, pomegranates, and plums. A dark undercurrent of wood, vanilla and leather laced with soft tannins follows and carries through a mild acidic finish. — 7 days ago
Needs time to open up and for the acidity to tone down. Dark and tight, laced with chocolate, wood, smoke. Fairly strong tannins pick up and carry through an acidic finish. — 2 months ago
This is 87% merlot and 13% Cabernet. Dark and inky fruit coats the tongue at the outset. Anise, carob, coffee laced with notes of bitter orange carry through on soft tannins with almost no acidity. — 3 months ago
This is a wine from the Pelaverga grape, which I learned was almost extinct decades ago. Reminiscent of Pinot noir with bold contrasts of strawberries and floral notes and an edge of acid and bitters. Level and elegant and also easy to drink. — 5 months ago

Juicy dark fruit just hums from the start. Blackberries, plums, touch of cherry blending with soft tannins. A light acidity carries off fig, vanilla, and carob to the end. — a month ago

75% Zinfandel, 20% petite Syrah, 5% barbera. Pepper on the nose that precedes a sharp tang of dark fruit. Smoke, figs and wood follow on a layer of acidic tannins. Probably needs more time to mellow if I had more patience…. — 11 hours ago
