This 22 year old Mourvèdre from Bandol still feels fresh and engaging. Elegant, and starting to peak now. Well balanced and rich. Spicy and entertaining.
A gorgeous wine that will continue to drink nicely in the next 10 years.

Double decant for sediment and pour. A splendid still dark tawny red color. On the nose: expressive notes of stewed blackberry/plum, worn leather, musty forest floor, truffles, mint. Taste: silky, elegant, savory wine with dried strawberries, leather, cedar, earth, and a peppery chocolate espresso medium plus finish. YUM! Still delivering like a champ at 45 years and glad to have a couple more bottles — 2 days ago
Light red, lovely with roast chicken, veal or pork. — 10 days ago

Elegant and fruit forward. Soft and smooth. Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel.
Good by itself or with food.
Would be nice to revisit it in 5 years, and see how it evolves.

Conrad Green

Intense and pretty with a bit of VA on the nose at first that blows off. Very pure fruit but still young and quite gnarly. Serious stuff, dark and intense. Will this ever dance lightly? I don’t know… impressive but less drinkable now that the 2000 alongside. — 24 days ago
