Exquisite and delicious!!
Beautifully balanced between fresh, vibrant apple, lemon peel notes and brioche, biscuit, toasted almond, and pastry notes, with some delicate bruised pear characteristics revealing a bit of bottle age.
Mousse is fine-grained, persistent, and well-integrated. So good! — 6 months ago
For me, one of best champagnes I’ve ever tasted..
This 1996 is still so fresh and so much alive..
It’s apples, vanilla, honey toasted bread and a lot of other excellent notes..
I’m very impressed!! — 3 years ago
“Rain drops, drop top…” this bottle of the 2004 Paul Bara “Special Club” was popped and poured and enjoyed over the course of 90 minutes. The color is a light gold with a significant and persistent mousse. Developing, the nose is redolent of fresh, ripe raspberries, strawberries, peaches, apples, lemons, brioche, and marzipan. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acidity. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long, rich and delicious and there’s an almost oily texture. I thought this was outstanding on its own and worked very well with both the chicken and duck dish at the table. While this is singing right now, I have little doubt this will continue to age with grace for another 10+ years. A decadent champagne that’s definitely, ahem, “bad and Bouzy”. — 5 months ago
I'm not typically a big fan of Chardonnay, but this one was delicious. Crisp, fresh, and clean, though the flavors took a while to open up. A couple hours after opening, I tasted some nice yellow apples and ripe pears with just a touch of oak. 100% Chardonnay. 1/30/22. — 2 years ago
Pale straw with a particularly vivacious nose. You’re greeted with aromas of umami and wet stones. There’s plenty of floral notes here, along with green apples and a faint touch of vanilla.
Clean, precise, and linear. This is a delicious Chenin Blanc. The key here is the acid that runs throughout. Sharp and contemplative while remaining generous. The palate is fresh and direct with citrus and minerality. Outstanding. — 4 months ago
My new Favorite white, just love mountain fruit! Named for mountain range dividing Napa & Sonoma, old stone winery dug into side of dormant volcano crater in 1889, remained in production ever since. Pale lemon with aromas of Tropical and stone fruit with complex spice and floral notes. On the palate flavors of apple, pear and citrus with light oak and nutty tones, fresh and vibrant, well integrated. Long finish ending with fruit and flinty mineral characteristics. Long aging potential. Nice! — 2 years ago
Celebrating tonight with this beautiful bottle of champagne - the first time I’ve ever bought myself champagne! Are they all like this? :) Beautiful golden hue, fine velvety bubbles, with a lovely richness and weight. An engaging depth of aromas and flavours including baked apples, lemon, fresh bread, almonds, with some minerality, salinity, smoke and spice. — 3 years ago

Bright honey gold with fine frizzante bubbles and a thin white mousse. Wildly aromatic with white flowers, ripe red apples, and fresh white peaches. Medium light palate confirms the nose giving layers of pome, stone fruit, honeysuckle, and honey. Bright, balancing acidity. Long finish. Excellent as a light sipper; shines with spicy dishes, fresh fruit, or sweet barbecue sauces. Drink now, of course. — 2 days ago
