Txakolina rosé tasting on the 2020 Summer Solstice, perfect for a hot/humid day in the Berkshires. Last bottle from our cellar. — 6 years ago
Young vines of Clos de Tart. Nice, bright cherries, wood shavings, caramel, great florals, light on its feet. Very nice. — 5 months ago
Medium Ruby color with aromas of berry fruits and spicy floral notes. On the palate flavors of tart cherry, blueberry and red plum with pepper spice, burnt toast and herbs. Fine chalky tannins, medium+ finish ending with fruit, spice, floral and slight earthy character. Has short term aging benefit, but nice now! — 5 months ago
Three great wines, fun dinner! — 7 months ago
First time with this wine, and I loved it. Underripe lime, white peach, and melon with striking minerality and a saline finish. Feather light body, slight effervescence, and tart acidity just pushes it over the edge. Ultimate hot summer day wine. If only they sold it in gallon size jugs. — 4 years ago
Enjoyed this by a campfire in new aluminium wine glasses. Dry, slight hint of sweetness. Crisp and fresh with a tart finish in a good way. Nice drinkable wine. — 5 years ago
Alluring is the best word that I can come up with to describe this one. Youthful, fresh, complex and approachable. Red fruit — both sour and tart. The tannins and acidity are well in balance. So glad I have a few more because I see this improving over the next several years. — 6 years ago
Great fruit flavors, nice bubbles, tart acidity. looking forward to this in the summer. — 7 years ago
2021. Courtesy of @Pinotman /// Andreas. Disturbed, lake bottom brown color. Slightly muddy and tart nose. Medium body. Not my cup of tea but there is an immaculate, front palate flavor moment of perfectly aged red Burg/Pinot Noir of, say, 15-18 years. Everything else is held in check during that time. That safe harbor in the storm is my take away. 4.1.26. — 4 months ago

A blend of 50% Malbec, 22% Merlot, 22% Cab Sauv & 6% Cab Franc, aged in French oak 50/50 new & 1 year old, combining fruit from Luján de Cuyo and the Uco Valley. Deep Ruby with aromas of dark fruit, earthy and floral spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry and tart cherry flavors, with vanilla, licorice, citrus and herb spice. Fine tannins, well balanced long finish ending with tart fruit and a sweet earthy mineral character. Nice! A Fav! — 5 years ago
Wow. Fourteen year-old Chianti that retains the liveliness of youth. Tart plum and sour cherry fruit, but a more sophisticated nose of leather and earth, with subtle floral notes in the background. Sufficient acid and tannic backbone to be an excellent food wine but balanced and quite enjoyable on its own. Enjoyed the 2006 vintage with a heaping plate of freshly baked ciabatta, Taleggio, Gorgonzola, cherries and dates. I am so glad there is a second bottle of this in my wine fridge. — 6 years ago
Slightly mineraly & tart with a semi-dry green apple fruity finish. I probably am describing this completely wrong as I am no connoisseur so don’t listen to me, this is really only for my own personal reference. My new fav, it’s 🔥 — 6 years ago
Much better than the 1991 but definitely not much left. Still quite nice - gives a real amount on the nose and balanced delicate tart fruit with good acid. — 8 years ago

Presented to me double-blind at Tasting Group. The wine pours a garnet color with a transparent core; medium+ viscosity with very faint staining of the tears and no signs of sediment or gas. On the nose, the wine is developing with powerful notes of ripe and some tart and dried red fruits: Morello cherry, dried orange peel, roses, tar, dried green herbs, talcum powder, dry gravelly earth. On the palate, the wine is bone dry with high tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ and so is the alcohol. Powerful and delicious.
Initial conclusions: this could be Nebbiolo, Sangiovese or possibly a Grenache blend from Italy or France. But if I’m trusting me notes here, this has gotta be Nebbiolo so that’s what I’m calling. Final conclusion: this is Nebbiolo from Italy, Piemonte, Barolo, and for the hell of it, I’m going to call Serralunga d’Alba…from a producer like Massolino, 2021. Ha! Vietti!! And I don’t hate my call because Castiglione Falletto is right next door. Tasty stuff, of course. Drink now with patience and through 2051. — 11 days ago
