Grande Cuvée Brut Champagne Blend

Outstanding wine! A good amount of acidity. Nougat, almonds, citrus, orange and lemon. Some brioche. The finish is so lovely. Lingers for minutes. Great wine. 170 — 8 days ago

Côte du Py Morgon Gamay 2021

Medium Ruby color with aromas of red fruit and earthy floral notes, matured in used barrels. On the palate flavors of red plum, cherry, banana and earthy herbs. Vivid acidity, fine dusty tannins, medium+ finish ending with fruit, floral and earthy mineral. Very good, a few more years of bottle age will benefit! — 24 days ago

Salon

'S' Blanc de Blancs Le Mesnil Brut Chardonnay 2002

A lunch for the folks who have been extremely generous and influential in my wine journey. Salon always needs 20 + years from vintage. As expected no where near maturity.A shy nose of apple , pear and flint. On the palate more round than linear. Acidity is very good but not as assertive as some previous vintages .A coiled spring. — 2 months ago

Château Pontet-Canet

Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 1995

Slightly deeper ruby garnet , narrower rim . Deeper and younger , touch of wood smoke then quite ripe black fruits , rounder with better definition on the nose than the 1994 . More degraded cassis and grafite noticeable than the wine before, tobacco , touch of seashell , marine influence comes though . On the palate the fruit fills out better than the 1994, quite dark and serious , grafite , tobacco and cedar , however the tannin is less rustic and better integrated . Nice balancing acidity. This has quite good length and is showing well now though could age a little longer. Probably is best drunk over the next few years — a month ago

Aged Spatlese from a renowned vineyard. Great acidity, perfect amount of RS, lots of petrol, ripe peach, apricot, hint of tropical fruit. Layers and layers of flavors and complexity. — 2 months ago

La Rioja Alta

Reserva Viña Ardanza Rioja Tempranillo Garnacha 2015

2015 vintage. At the crest of drinkability meshed with cellar dweller. Right there. Decently priced so that you can hit it in both stages, multiple times. Medium body with solid acidity/tannins and full, frontal fruit. 9.6.23. — a month ago

Tenuta delle Terre Nere

Etna Rosso Nerello Mascalese Blend 2020

So fragrant & fresh. Dusty, crunchy cherries with an exotic whiff of rose petals & orange peel. There’s also a salty touch to it. So seductive.
On the palate this is silky smooth, rather on the lighter side, with vibrant juicy cherry acidity and finely grained tannins. Good length and nice depth. Dangerously drinkable, too.
A really lovely one from Etna.

Great 05 fruit with classic Bordeaux profile.

Starts with the bright, ripe fruits that 05 gave. Blackberries, black raspberries, very, dark cherries, black plum, raspberries, plum, perfect graphite for days, cedar, fresh & slightly dry tobacco, forest floor with dry leaves, perfect, dark spices, dry crushed limestone, dry river stone, nutmeg, cinnamon & vanillin, salted caramel, dry, dark chocolate bar, steep tea with fruit, anise to black licorice, haunting herbaceous notes, saline notes, dry to moist clay, bright, mid to dark florals framed in violets, excellent acidity with amazing tension, beautifully balanced & structured, polished, wire to wire finish that lasts close to two-minutes. So round on the palate. Great with the El Salciciero ribeyes.

Corn picked today from my organic garden. Ten to fifteen plus year left.
