'S' Blanc de Blancs Le Mesnil Brut Chardonnay

1997 vintage. Pale golden hue. On the nose, lemon (fresh), slightly yeasty, honey suckle and vanilla leaf. Fresh and surprisingly youthful. On the palate, high and fresh acidity, medium minus body, medium alcohol and medium concentration. Great length. Amazing balance and freshness despite age and vintage. Could last for a decade plus. Very impressive.

I could smell this in my glass before it was in front of me. Am talking four feet away. A real beauty. Loved immensely.

On the most beautiful beach, with the most decadent French toast, rain and rocks, the lightest brioche, savory raspberry, vanilla poof, sex magic. The light scent of jasmine. It smells like Salon.

Killer. Guest brought two bottles. Lovely detail and yeast.

I remember enjoying this more at the Salon tasting in April. Obviously a great bottle of wine here but after that 99 last week the weight of the fruit is a little much. Quite an enjoyable bottle but for my palate I prefer the 99.
