Smells of bright cherry, raspberry, dried strawberry and violets. Raspberry, plum and light cranberry with thyme and roses on the palate. Touch of anise, cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger snap, but all pulled together by the fruit and a layer of saffron-apple. Uniquely delightful. Had with Sashimi, and wasabi to cut the fog, so held its own. #sojourncellars #russianrivervalley #russianriverpinot #rrv #sonoma #pinotnoir #pn — 4 years ago
Dried cherry and cranberry with bresaola notes, bay leaf, brown bread, peppercorn. Dried violets, black and bing cherry and dried blueberry intermingle with elderberry and plum skin.
Magnum was better on day two, showing acute complexities unrealized initially.
Great single vineyard wine with depth.

Nicely balanced #russianrivervalley #chardonnay - steely acidity offset by roundness and rich spice from oak while still maintaining elegance. — 3 years ago
Bigger extraction #russianrivervalley #pinotnoir. Cherry preserves, slight peppery notes on the nose. Creamy texture on the palate, start to get some varietal character and good acidity as it warms up. I prefer a more elegant, lower ABV style but if heavier Pinot is your thing, here’s a good example though QPR isn’t compelling. — 4 years ago
Dried raspberry, carnation, rose petal, and ripest plum, with palm leaf and cocoanut nose. Cherry and raspberry conspire on the palate to reign in the fruitiness with tart expressions. Very low tannic profile outside the fruit, with a violet side shuffle and pleasant touch of blackberry.

Gorgeous #russianrivervalley #chardonnay - fresh and baked apple, honeyed lemon notes on nose - beautiful, fresh acidity on frame, lovely medium-bodied mouthfeel, subtle butterscotch notes. This is one of my benchmarks for excellent #sonomacounty Chard. — 3 years ago
2nd of 3 wines part of a virtual work happy hour from the Mrs. #russianrivervalley #pinotnoir - boldly fruit-forward, bramble fruit, faint spice on the nose. Drinks richer than many Merlots. Some layers in the palate, creamy texture, faint spice behind a big tidal wave of purple fruit up front and feathery tannins to finish. It needs more acidity and I prefer a more elegant Pinot but definitely a well-made wine if big fruity Pinot is your thing. — 4 years ago
