I’m not that into this one. It HAS TO BE ICONIC. But Iconic leads to over extracted over sexed over. Just lacking finesse. Lacking intrigue. Don’t get me wrong. It’s delicious and I don’t mind drinking it and can age in the bottle but it’s missing it’s MOJO. #petitesirah #alicantebouschet #zinfandel and #carignane #sonoma #sonomacounty — 6 years ago

A solid 9. Lovely #cabernertsauvignon notes and then smooth #merlot flavors on the palate. #sonoma — 7 years ago
Cantaloupe and lemon combine with Bosc pear and warm apples aromatically. Medium mouthfeel turns complex and heavier, exhibiting grilled lemon, tangerine pith, lemon toast, the taste of vanilla’s aroma, warm yellow apple and magnolia. #chardonnay #Soujourn #sonomachardonnay #sonoma #chard — 8 years ago
Not much has changed from the 2014 to this 2015. Still an amazing glass of wine. I noted just a bit more smoke than I remember in the 2014. Still nice cedar and cherry tones that linger nicely as you enjoy. #California #Sonoma #sonomavalley #BeekeeperCellars #zinfandel #MonticelloVineyard — 8 years ago
Richer. Not my style, lacked balance. #bedrockwineco #sauvignonblanc #sonoma #ctbucklinwine — 8 years ago
Dried raspberry, carnation, rose petal, and ripest plum, with palm leaf and cocoanut nose. Cherry and raspberry conspire on the palate to reign in the fruitiness with tart expressions. Very low tannic profile outside the fruit, with a violet side shuffle and pleasant touch of blackberry.

Smells of bright cherry, raspberry, dried strawberry and violets. Raspberry, plum and light cranberry with thyme and roses on the palate. Touch of anise, cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger snap, but all pulled together by the fruit and a layer of saffron-apple. Uniquely delightful. Had with Sashimi, and wasabi to cut the fog, so held its own. #sojourncellars #russianrivervalley #russianriverpinot #rrv #sonoma #pinotnoir #pn — 6 years ago
Polished wine. Interesting. I like it from a postural, viticultural standpoint but the end result for me is slightly too acidic and lacking intensity of aromas and flavours and the finish is only medium. It’s a very nice wine and pleasurable, but for me, it’s lacking a bit of good ol funk to cost 30-35$. #carignan #sonoma — 6 years ago
This was the artist label version. It was more expensive and I found that it wasn’t as good as the regular #Sonoma #loeb bottle. #pinotnoir #californiapinot — 8 years ago

Sixteen 600 produces yet another delicious Rhone blend! Youthful today and showing good potential for future aging. Don’t get me wrong this wine is incredibly enjoyable today.

No one in Colorado drinks more Pax than I do. From the "glou-glou" Wind Gap label to the 100 point Hillside Syrah, I love these wines. My favorite vineyard is Griffin's Lair and I think I've had every single vintage. The older bottles can be quite big, intense; while some of the newest have converged toward the leaner Wind Gap style, but either way the terroir has always shined through any stylistic trappings to reveal some of the best Syrah in California.
This 2012 is a perfect example of just how good it can get. More "Cornas" than "Cote Rotie", it's not as elegant as the most famous French Syrahs, but it doesn't have to be! Instead, the power is simply stunning. There's absolutely no fat. No extra ripeness. No over blown oak. No decadent opulence or gimmicky fruit. This is pure, unadulterated wine that gives everything great about Syrah in a sublime fashion. Unique to this vintage is amazing tannin structure, making me think this will be the longest lived vintage I've tasted.
I know that Pax recently got a 100 point score from Galloni on his Hillside Syrah - and Iove that wine too - but how did this only get 94 points? I understand the ideological importance of awarding a perfect score to a low alcohol, lighter extracted wine, but I'm afraid it's going to discourage this classic style. I love powerful syrah and I hope it never goes away. To me, this is basically perfect.

Lovely Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir, hitting its peak with dried cherry nose, raspberry, roast beef, grilled pork, rose petal, roobios, graphite, dried blueberries. Rich mouthfeel showing cola nut, espresso, fruit and barrel tannic underpinnings, aforementioned roobios, lavender and roses, raisins, figs, dates, clove, peppercorn and cinnamon perfectly portioned in an intense wash of raspberry, smoky, bitter savory, nettle and an anise afterthought. Incredible wine from a serious house that always delivers their intense manifestations with grace and finesse. Rich in every sense.
