Big #touriganacional #tintaroriz #syrah #alicantebouschet 35/25/25/15% blend. First day it’s venting off the vanilla from oak but day 2 out of the wine fridge and it’s much more interesting. Purple black in the glass. Dense bramble fruit, slate and pepper aromas, solid acidity and moderate soft tannins avoids the flabby trap. The winemaker seems to be improving every vintage. #wsjwineclub — 6 years ago
Really impressive #alicantebouschet; I’ve tasted the regular and this riserva is definitely a step up with luxurious cassis aroma and a deep purple velvet elixir in your mouth. — 7 years ago
#alicantebouschet And #cabernet really give this wine its identity. #alentejo heat and power with finesse. Black fruit and sweet spice on the nose, cherries and plums and cinnamon. Flavor profile on the palate in sync with the nose. Obvious oak influence. Tannins still a little scratchy. Can age for many years now until 2020 easily. — 10 years ago
Another amazing example of #AlicanteBouschet from the Alantejo region of #Portugal. This is Syrah meets Red Zinfandel. Juicy blackberry, creme d'cassis, licorice, and roasted herbs, some sweet oak, but well integrated. Medium to full bodied, silky and ripe tannins, great acidity. #Alentejo — 12 years ago

I love it. #carignan #carignane #zinfandel #petitesyrah #syrah #alicantebouschet #monastrell #garnachatintorera #mourvedre #barbera #sonoma #sonomacounty it has this complexity and balance due to the blend that intrigues me and keeps me coming back for more. #ravenswood also incredibly fresh for 2014 vintage. Can age. — 6 years ago

I didn’t find it particularly interesting when I tried it with Coravin, but that’s because it’s a full bodied wine with high tannins that should be decanted. Today I’m tasting it with a stewed roast and it is delicious. Deep ruby color = #alicantebouschet #syrah and #touriganacional warm climate #alentejo medium+ aromas with ripe red cherries, ripe raspberry and red plums. Balsamic touches and on the palate it’s dry with medium acidity and medium+ ripe tannins. Medium+ finish. — 6 years ago
nice dessert wine, tawny port style, dark fruit, well balance of acid and tannins, roasted hazelnuts, vanilla bean, delicious #alicantebouschet — 10 years ago
It’s a pity. After I tried this wine and learned more about the winery and pago where the winery is located, the technical director told me that I had drunk one of the last bottles of this #garnachatintorera #tintorera #alicantebouschet — 5 years ago
I’m not that into this one. It HAS TO BE ICONIC. But Iconic leads to over extracted over sexed over. Just lacking finesse. Lacking intrigue. Don’t get me wrong. It’s delicious and I don’t mind drinking it and can age in the bottle but it’s missing it’s MOJO. #petitesirah #alicantebouschet #zinfandel and #carignane #sonoma #sonomacounty — 6 years ago
#garnachatintorera #alicantebouschet I’m stoked because I tasted it blind and thought this is Tintorera! And I was right. Deep color. With Tintorera I’m starting to understand the vibe. It’s Syrah color and aromas (savoury, spicy and peppery) with the richness and juiciness of Garnacha Tinta. This is a Basque winery that I believe just buys bulk and commercializes their wines, or at least this series of wines. More or less 6€ a bottle in #Spain its a killer deal of a wine. I personally am not a fan of cartoon like labels. — 6 years ago
Poggio al Tufo is a relatively new estate in the once swampy Maremma in coastal Tuscany. Tommasi, of Amarone fame planted vineyards here in 1997. The Alicante Bouschet grape is new to Tuscany, although getting more popular. This wine is a deep purple in the glass , delivering pepper, black fruits and smoke to the palate. Tannins are still a little harsh so this will benefit from another year or two in the bottle. Interesting wine from this interesting grape.

#alicantebouschet is the #garnacha #tintorera grape in #spain in this wine from #alentejo it's been made rather nicely. Deep, savory and aromatic with #potpurri and #peppery spice kick. Great price quality ratio and a fun bold wine with #ecological practices — 11 years ago

The best wine from this winery. Probably the best #alicantebouschet #tintorera from #bierzo and one of the best I’ve ever had. — 2 years ago
