I didn’t find it particularly interesting when I tried it with Coravin, but that’s because it’s a full bodied wine with high tannins that should be decanted. Today I’m tasting it with a stewed roast and it is delicious. Deep ruby color = #alicantebouschet #syrah and #touriganacional warm climate #alentejo medium+ aromas with ripe red cherries, ripe raspberry and red plums. Balsamic touches and on the palate it’s dry with medium acidity and medium+ ripe tannins. Medium+ finish. — 4 years ago

Vintage Porto 1985
Med + concentration with a light purple core and a brownish rim. The nose was young with med + intensity and complexity. The fruit was driven by stewed and dried black fruit accompanied by sweet spices, nuts, chocolate, and orange. Tannins were present along with low acid and balanced alcohol. The #port felt young and well concentrated. There was more red fruit along with a floral component on the palate. Big #touriganacional #tintaroriz #syrah #alicantebouschet 35/25/25/15% blend. First day it’s venting off the vanilla from oak but day 2 out of the wine fridge and it’s much more interesting. Purple black in the glass. Dense bramble fruit, slate and pepper aromas, solid acidity and moderate soft tannins avoids the flabby trap.
