It reminds me - overall - of high quality Sancerre, but with different fruit expression. Plenty of acidity and freshness. Lemon zest and fruit aromatics. Good body and texture too. A nice wine. Interesting concept with two winemakers from two regions combining the same grape. Another Baga here. This one is aged. Very balanced and smooth, showing really well on the palate not that it's 18 years after it was made. Still in it's awkward teenage years for sure. There's a touch of a chlorine vibe with the aroma but the palate is slick and exciting. Shout out to the waitress who couldn't find the originally ordered vintage and botched getting the cork out. We paired it with grilled Dogfish and it cost about 15 euros.

I had to open one last bottle of Colares before I left Portugal. These are very rare wines made of the ramisco grape, grown on the sandy soil without trellising. Dried cherry fruit on the nose with a hint of cinnamon. At a decade old, you would never guess. The level of tannin and acidity is at a level here that makes Barolo look like baby stuff. #portugalwine #colares — 2 years ago

I had no idea that Portugal did so many amphora aged wines! I've been really impressed with the quality of these whites; again no sulfites and unfiltered for the most part. They remind me of sicily and even a little bit of Jura. This bottle had a minty, basil thing going on with the nose. Really intriguing. #naturalwine #amphora #sisab #portugalwine — 2 years ago
