Clove, fig, dried red fruit and nutmeg. Was great after a long decant and expanded over weekend. Port is right for a homebound winter.

Little staining, moderate plus to elevated concentration. Bright ruby with a garnet rim. Rosemary, clove, thyme, game, leather, and sanguine. Cinnamon & nutmeg, tea leaves, and a tough of mint. Iodine, agave/syrup on the palate. A prolonged sweet and savory finish of elevated acidity and moderate smooth tannins.

Opened in a family dinner celebrating my father reaching the fine age of 70. Decanting was not an option, so I poured carefully to all glasses at one go. And indeed decanting would have been useful, not only for the very heavy sediment but for opening the wine up after such a long slumber in bottle. After a few minutes in the glass, the alcohol (20%) became less dominant and the fruit got somehow fresher, focused. Very smooth, long and satisfying.

Excellent, mature with loads of complexity and depth. Elegance is this wine's best attribute as it cuts a focused line from start to finish, from the nose to the long and fresh finish.

Med + concentration with a light purple core and a brownish rim. The nose was young with med + intensity and complexity. The fruit was driven by stewed and dried black fruit accompanied by sweet spices, nuts, chocolate, and orange. Tannins were present along with low acid and balanced alcohol. The #port felt young and well concentrated. There was more red fruit along with a floral component on the palate. Great length. #dows #vintageport #portugal #oporto #touriganacional #ctbucklinwine

Surprisingly aggressive & tannic given the age. Expected more.

Alcohol and acidity are still intense but otherwise full of cherry, currants, chocolate and coffee hints
